  1. Using a hand puller winch, I attach the cable hook to a sling on the headboard of the truck. I attach the winch unit to the machine using another strop - this means you are always winching next to the machine and so can guide it as it travels up the ramp. I didn't load the CS100 onto the truck many times as I had a trailer for it but from memory I loaded it discharge shoot end first, attaching the strop to the handle area lower down the machine. I think that i may have removed the foot stand until it was on the back of the truck as this may struggle to get over the back of the flatbed. Hope that's a bit clearer. I may have a picture somewhere of the system loading the SG13 onto the truck.
  2. I did use to load my old pedestrian grinder and CS100 using some 2 metre ramps and a hand winch. It was easy enough winching with one hand and guiding the machine with the other.
  3. Just googled your tege. That was it - huge leggy thing!
  4. I don't like spiders but i always try to avoid harming them. Saw the biggest spider that i've ever seen in the wild in England the other week. Came out of a hollow Sycamore that we had felled the previous day. One of the guys recognised it as a fake widow.

  7. Your probably right skyhuck but in days gone by teachers just group everyone that struggled in their lessons in the thick group. I believe it's better now a days.
  8. Definitely think dyslexic people are higher skilled in other areas, whether it's artistic, entrepreneurs or other - Richard Branson is dyslexic. Dyslexic people certainly aren't thick but I think many were told so in school by ignorant teachers. I think that when I was tested in my mid-twenties my IQ score came out at about 120.
  9. 1.5 out of 3. Me definite, suspect one of my groundies may be. Almost certain that my dad is (also in tree work).
  10. An Adult section. Nobody has told me about this. Where can I find it?
  11. Hi Sprint, A client of mine in Wisbech might be able to have 2 or 3 loads. Let me know if you need details. Ed
  12. This was the first of today's jobs. The second was a big Beech that had totalled a garage and was leaning heavily on the copper roof of the neighbouring college. Two more fallen trees to look at tomorrow. Will be phoning all next weeks booked work to postpone. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Very foggy.
  14. Sorry all but just had a call from the head gardener where the stumps are located say that they are under water. Will have to postpone to another date. Gutted.
  15. I got some size 46 last year. When i got them out of the box I thought there'd never fit. They are a comfort fit but are the right size.
  16. Hope this map might help make the location clear.
  17. Never seen that on before. Love the comment "theres no way that was safe" - no kidding!!
  18. That is one lovely butt!
  19. Not sure if he's a member on here but try Mr Walnut, Snowdown Rd, Aylesham.
  20. Your message inbox is full Dean. The best post code is CB3 9BN. This is the post code for the university rugby ground. The access road that leads to the stumps is between the rugby ground and Clare Hall College. Any problems on the day, give me a ring on my mobile - I think you've got that. Cheers, Ed
  21. New they shouldn't have wasted that penalty advantage just before half time.
  22. Ok, there's 4 or 5 interested from Arbtalk and at least two other local firms wanting to attend. Must be worth a Bandit jacket for this The stumps are located towards the end of a road that runs along the stands side of the Cambridge University Rugby Ground, Grange Road (CB3 9BN). Dean should be there for 10am ish.
  23. 38 but feel like 65. As Jamie and Gary hinted at, my dad will be 71 in May this year and still climbs 5 days a week. I think i'll be quitting climbing before he does.
  24. Hi all, Dean's doing a demo of Bandit stump grinders for me in Cambridge on Friday 7th February (10am). Hope to be seeing the HB20, 2250 & 2550 Anyone wanting to see these machines in action are more than welcome to join us. I'll post location/directions nearer the day.
  25. To answer your question, before lowering devices it was just a good thick bit of 3strand rope. Very strong and cheap as chips so doesn't matter if you wear it out in a year. If your lowering limbs it must mean a dismantle so wear on the tree doesn't matter. To add friction the rope went through 2 or even 3 crotches. This also shared the weight. For big bits a wrap or two round the trunk. Done some BIG trees like this.
