  1. Object: feelputputthigh.com or something like that, hitting my virus checker.
  2. I planted one at my work, funded by the big tree plant. pucka trees.
  3. Likewise. Cheers though dan!
  4. Ill try anything once.
  5. K at work?!? Jesus Christ. I get enhanced CRB check every couple of years but don't get drug checked. I personally would not agree with drug checks. If you suspect someones using at work or not on the ball from the night before, then deal with it then.
  6. Avoid PC World. Get on Ebuyer.com, you'll get loads more for your money. I've had loads of bits and pieces from them over time and couple of geeky associates swear by them.
  7. Yeah Matty would be good. I haven't paid a hedge since college, and I certainly don't know any techniques beyond what we did there!
  8. So what's the reason why Tilia x europaea bungs out so much basal growth? Is it a survival strategy? I've noticed at my place that 3 that we felled possibly 20 years ago have regrown basically as coppiced trees. The stumps have all hollowed right out (and become useful for geocaching sites). It seems to me, and I'm probably totally wrong, that they do not compartmentalise well but insist on persisting through their vigorous regrowth?
  9. Ditto. That's some nice hedging, could do with brushing up on mine!
  10. Innit. The surreal thing was, we were going through all these cones and they were flying over the top of the car alternately passenger side/driver side, like a cartoon. Hats off to the roadmen of the M20 though, they were massively helpful in every way possible.
  11. I had a drunk plough into the back of me on a motorway in roadworks last year, I was doing 40 (the limit at the time) and from seeing him way waaaaay back getting closer and closer, I think he must have still been doing 70 when he hit us. I lost control and was on course for a roadsign but ended up missing it and going down a small embankment into a load of Fallopia japonica. We both got out the car with me fine and my passenger minor injuries from a flying can of Monster to the face. My Technics 1200's on the backseat we fairly trashed. The bloke who hit us, in a Vectra, was sat at his steering wheel and looked over and saw me walking over (at that moment to check he was alright) and somehow, despite having a substantially shorter car, he was able to drive away with an obviously knackered sounding engine. Up the motorway and into the distance. That was the last I saw of him. Luckily, he only made it to the next junction when a squadcar picked him up pushing it off the road. He blew 145. Which I worked out to be something like 8 pints? This was on a Monday early evening. What a proper loser. He was banned for 18months, had a minor fine and I think it was 6 months suspended sentence so despite being totally rinsed, he drove away too. He was lucky there was noone in the back as I don't think they would have been as lucky as us. He said he didn't see us and thought he hit the central barrier. Me and my passenger were so so lucky, as was he.
  12. "Yeah, but I'm doing you a favour gettin rid of your waste mate, you should pay me!"
  13. I've emailed posing as bidder after serial number. It's either legit or he'll see through it and ignore me. But hey-ho.
  14. Did you have a MS291 stolen? There's one on ebay, brand new, boxed, being sold in Bristol by someone with 0 feedback. Finishes in 40minutes. "for a contract that never happened".
  15. 25th/26th.
  16. Nice! Ta!
  17. Thanks for the reply! I'm afraid no picture of it 'in situ' as it became detached when I was pulling at the ivy. I'm certain of location it came from though as there are a few bits and bobs of it left where it was attached to the tree. I have these photos too though:
  18. I found what appeared to be a desiccated fruiting body of I. dryadeus on the stem of an oak, not far from the top of the bole, but it was at 2.5m high. There is minor dieback in the crown. There is soil compaction for sure. The stem is approx 1.2m dbh and tree probably 15m high (off top of my head). The FB was tucked away in some ivy I was stripping (tree in high risk zone and I wanted to actually see the stem). Am I barking up the wrong tree?
  19. I'm selling green ash/birch at the moment. Felled last year but left in cord until month or 2 ago. I always tell the customer this when they call though. Haven't really had anyone moan for a while now. Still only driven away without tipping once, but was back to the same address within a fortnight with a load that the bloke was proper chuffed with and I was glad for the custom.
  20. Hi, I'm probably a bit late for this, but does anyone know of anyone who'll do an artic load of split, seasoned hardwood in the south east? I have plenty of stuff to come down but would rather not be selling green ash (although customers are still lapping it up!). Demand has far outstripped supply! Help me obiwanarbtalkie, you're one of my only hopes!
  21. Sounds like I'm gonna have a big project on my hands!
  22. Has anyone got a link to list of trees ordered by year of introduction, by any chance? I don't recall ever seeing one before and I'm unsure whether there's much point in one even existing but I'm feeling lazy. I would just like to go "oh 1850 here's a list of trees" rather than flick through Kew's list or my Collins book.
  23. This is mine. He has got most of the components of a doberman in him.
  24. That's a mega amount of prizes!
