  1. Yeah, with regards ringing up, got it out the way in one foul swoop. Trying to get all rings split and stacked asap. I totally forgot I'm getting a burner installed next year!
  2. Yeah that too Imagine it's going to cost more than it'll make.
  3. Yo, If I was to store a small amount of logs, certainly less than 5m3 in my garage with a view to selling them in net bags in a year or two, what would be the score with business rates? I'm already registered as self employed for the odd day I help out my mate, just I ended up taking a load of maple and sycamore home from a job. Only thought about the potential for business rates after.
  4. Nice one! Amazingstoke day for me.
  5. Cans of Monster might be on 2 for £2.00 around that way and Woody Woodpecker and co have made a day of it.
  6. No discount. As someone said, he's perhaps stepping on your toes. You are doing him a favour by giving him a discount, not him doing you a favour by helping you get rid of your product.
  7. Are the diamond shapes perhaps extensive woodpecker damage, rather than the calling sign of poplar?
  8. Seasoned pop is fine. I've given bags of seasoned stuff to customers and asked for their opinions and they haven't had any concerns with it at all!
  9. Putting price up by 10% come April, I reckon. We've improved handling and storage so have have a better end product. We haven't raised our prices in 4 years. The price of our logs is not linked to other utilities, it is related directly to our time, effort, machinery and storage. I can guarantee that if our price puts off any customers, then we'll still sell out.
  10. panic buyers = woohoo!
  11. Maybe buying them booze and fags means they don't give him any grief. Computer nerds aren't renowned for being Adonis's like us bunch of rufty-tufties.
  12. Depends on the spacings of the coppice stools, access, what you'll do with what you cut,....
  13. Never really rated Everlast, but included House of Pain's debut album in my top 50 of all time. They were up there in the 30's I think. The soundtrack to Judgement Night was pretty good. Loads of colabs from rap/hiphop guys with metal guys. Never saw the film, but the soundtrack was pretty legendary back in the day. 14. All the accidents marked on that map on the A272 involve dead motorcyclists. Sure some of them were IAM too.
  15. banged it out on new years day. rock and roll.
  16. Could you perhaps leave some standing dead, for nature and the like?
  17. Awesome!! I would be loving this!
  18. Yup, my bosses zip broke pretty soon after getting a new pair last year. He only got them fixed a few weeks ago too. Mine are a little older and have had no problems though.
  19. Is that a dead one of this?
  20. 3 months old, on lease. 3pt linkage on back and front, pto back and front, heaters, windscreen wipers and everything!
  21. While I appreciate your point, I think it's down to the organisation and the task. Not every day is "danger" work. Not for me anyway.
  22. For the record, I'm not an "arb" boyo, I'm a ranger. First hour is litterpick/site check/check fishing tickets etc. Then depending on the job depends on where my dog is. If I'm fencing in a field, coppicing, surfacing, dog is out. If I'm in the tractor then he'll be sat beside me. If I'm in the office, he'll be in there. If I'm doing yard work, he'll be there. If I'm felling or diggering or anywhere near the road, he'll be in the office or caged in the pickup. I've taken dogs to work before. My boss is fine with it and so is his boss.
  23. I get a lot of mine from USA. Records sold out of London, exported to USA over the last decade then sent back over the Atlantic. How many wax miles in your bag? Christ, that's well unvironmental when I come to think of it!
  24. Try surfing on the south coast of England, then you'll appreciate what I mean
  25. Yeah, but when you factor in amount of quids spent on surfing paraphernalia, fuel, campsites etc, Vs amount of time spent actually surfing, as in actually riding a wave, then it gets a bit silly. My expensive hobby is the black crack that is collecting vinyl. £7.00 for a new release 2 tunes, same or plenty more for older ones. I have in excess of 600. I don't even want to do the maths. It makes me cry when I pour Malibu and Umbongo over one of my rarest (£50+ to replace, if you can find it). It's now sticky and no amount of tlc will get it out the grooves.
