  1. Time for the antiques road show! My 1988 komatsu is only 1.5 t but does everything I need, built a barn, laid patio moves wood etc- wouldn't be with out one now, the other thing is stability get the widest tracks possible, and a blade if your lifting with it it doesn't take much of a slope to need new pants! There was a you tube vid of a French guy on here about 2 years ago who had a forwarding trailer attached to his blade and a grab with rotator, which I will eventually copy

  7. I have had 2 come down:thumbdown: has any one tried milling one and if so what uses has the wood? I've heard it's good in wet ground and under water eg board walks etc
  8. I have 2 of these and they have been through so many needle bearings I've lost count, then they also cut out with the chain brake on Did you just replace the clutch? I kept blaming the guys for running their chains too tight:blushing:

  14. £58 m3!!!! I'm £100 per m3 and I carnt keep up! I have crept my prices up gradually over the past few years and people don't seem to mind as long as they have the same as last year- dry wood that fits in their fire! Don't forget that after Christmas the supply and demand kicks in so try it out with a few customers, if they moan do them a special deal just for them wink wink Good luck rich
  15. well thats not tooo bad, i have been offered at £55 per m3 so if theres 3 cube per cord thats £165 so your ok at £130 bearing in mind its more expensive the less volume you buy:thumbup:
  16. It is exactly what it says- a handy reference guide designed for home owners, if I knew nothing about wood it would be a good start, as we all know wood is such a variable commodity and to Fred blogs it must be very difficult so to have some thing as a starting point can only be a good thing? Thank you for sharing wood works. i could do with a similar guide to politics or accounting:001_tt2:
  17. Does it literally come with a ram? ( pic 1 )
  18. Hi Russell Amanda from land power had one try her cheers rich
  19. they just use a bigger file! but turn machine off first:001_tt2:
  20. has any one tried the alaskan precision grinder sharpener from rob d?- i use it on the alaskan mill and it does both sides from the same side and very acurately- using it is like a new chain every time, you can even do the depth guages with it.
  21. I like the idea of this but has any one actually done it and saved themselves the hard work logging?
  22. If it didn't have a clutch then wouldn't the blades/ chain run all the time at idle?? Maybe I have read this wrong?
