  5. Ok it was more like 2.5 forwarder loads but I hid some of the bigger bits in the bottom of the hedge for insect habitat!
  6. My team are good at what they do! That's how! We usually put all the guys on the clean up and back to normal asap as for tree waste filled the forwarder twice with leylandii!
  7. They don't seem too bothered, they rent the house from prince Charles any way:lol:
  8. I would add the biggest thing behind saw choice is a sharp chain, a big saw is useless with a blunt chain- get a granberg sharpener from chainsaw bars you won't regret it it gets the cutters and depth guages perfect every time, the saw will pull itself through rather than having to push hard:thumbup: Cheers rich
  9. Steve there is an engineering word for it but I cant remember it Curve?:001_tt2:
  10. Thank you both:thumbup:
  11. Hi Miguel I have just bought exactly the same set up but haven't had time to use it yet so glad to hear your pleased with it:thumbup: What chain do you have? Did you buy an alaskan sharpener? Had a go on one of my other saws and they are blooming brilliant The local wood turners clubs are always after wood you could try there? Cheers rich
  12. Brilliant :thumbup:I've been following your repair thread, good luck- much better than a tractor and trailer:thumbup:

  19. Looks great to me:thumbup: are you going to treat the boards? Or leave plain? When I start on mine I will start a post I acquired 10 sticks of clean pine last week so should be a start:thumbup: cheers rich

  21. Rob that looks like a bit of boscombe pier! I thought it looked wonky:001_tt2:
  22. I like the use of the hi lift jack for clamping the boards together whilst milling 2x4 or 2 x6 etc also using the drill on the grinder to sharpen the bolts Looking forward to getting my mill assembled and running this week end:thumbup:
  23. Mine has just arrived ( thank you rob:thumbup:) Had a quick go on my 346 chain tonight and I recon it cuts better than a new chain! No saw dust whatsoever ever all chips, really pleased as I didn't think I was that bad at sharpening! If your in any doubts get one Thanks again rob:thumbup:
  24. I've just bought a caravan:lol: at 35:blushing:
  25. This may have been posted before Chainsaw Lumber Making Hope the link works, it describes milling in detail and gives some great ideas on how to set the first cut I must buy a pipe though as it seems it is an essential item for milling straight boards:thumbup: Rich
