  1. Mine is about 5 years old and has been through several handles now, trouble is they go all rubbery and then you carn't get the brake on which is a bit of a pain. Good to know they havnt changed. "But we have never seen it happen before"
  2. Did all my qualifications with tree life, and Dave Dowson- absolutely excellent and couldnt recommend him highly enough.
  3. We bought 11 km worth from Allan Lang in Liphook 01428 751321
  4. oak, walnut, elm, maple, ceder, are all good fig, poplar, elder, willow, box, are examples of bad Dr Shigo did alot of work on this, and some of the cut away photos on the internet are really interesting and are good examples of his work. hope this helps
  5. Now Solved, I have bought a .325 9 hole sprocket from new saw chains and it works a treat. thank you to all who replied
  6. We use kerb granules, used in an oversize pepper pot, shake a few around and in the tubes around christmas. they wont touch woody plants but kill the grass. there not cheap but neither would the labour be on 15k trees. we plant a simelar number of trees each year and the maintainance does get easier once the tree pokes its head up over the tube. most of my time post nest season is spent swiping plantations and old mans beard. a quick google search has found this link tree-shop.co.uk - Kerb Granules otherwise good to hear there is some planting going on!
  7. Thanks Rob i didnt expect this kind response from everyone. its a rim sprocket and im hoping to nip down to a chap at hurn airport on monday who is advertising one on his web site. unless you sell them? I understand you are also close to Wimborne, as i have been following the milling forum very closely. I originally bought the saw to fit to an alaskan mill, and am currently trying to persuade my wife that i need one. i work on a large estate just outside wimborne so have good access to to some interesting wood. but in the mean time will use the saw for fire wood on a portec saw horse. thanks again Rich
  8. Thanks megatron thats good of you to provide part numbers. I had resigned myself to a new bar, As for the strength issue i will be running it on one of those portec log things to cut green sycamore thinnings so it will be at only 1/4 capacity. If i were using the 36" bar to log seasoned oak it might be a different story! Thanks again all as im new to this forum and computer thingy!
  9. Thanks Rob i will keep going with google!
  10. I dont suppose if anyone knows if there is a .325 sprocket for the 066? i happen to have a pile of chain and 20" bar in .325 from another saw, so would be cheeper than buying a new 3/8 bar and chain! many thanks in advance
  11. he even has wheels to move it with!!
  12. do you still have the chainsaw mill and would you sell seperatly from the saw?cheers rich
