  1. That's awkward, I haven't noticed that before...
  2. Oh ok. How do we edit profile stuff etc.? I am being thick?
  3. Hi Steve, When I click on the home button it sends me to the forum?
  4. Absolutely, a true hero and a product of his time. If nothing else, his middle name was Falcon. What a name. "We have been to the Pole and we will die like gentlemen. I regret only for the ladies we leave behind."
  5. Posting this on behalf of a friend who wants a price on artic loads of cord hard or softwood. Delivery to 4 miles south of turrif. Cheers
  6. Yep, got some good one's for the thesis let me know when the oxtrac is about, as much for seeing one as taking pics!
  7. Spent Sunday afternoon getting some pictures of Dave using his Iseki forwarding rig. Got a few (about 40) decent pics out of the 280 I took!
  8. Do you work him on roe? I remember an old school German telling me that you should only put a Hanoverian on boar & reds, as roe are too sweet (?) tasting and it will ruin the dog. Could be an old wives tale though Nice beast anyway
  9. Where he falls over, and probably because he is tired.
  10. Smooth, definitely have one. Any chance of a hoodie or quality fleece?
  11. 1. Banter (n) Supple term used to describe activities or chat that is playful, intelligent and original. Banter is something you either posses or lack, there is no middle ground. It is also something inherently English, stemming as it does from traditional hi-jinks and tomfoolery of British yesteryear.
  12. "Pagan's" had a very complicated and sophisticated belief/religious system. Religion arrived long before the Romans did.
  13. Round here it is without doubt. Down in Cheshire then a N/V or lamping rig is more productive, of course. But in the fells it doesn't work. Hill farmers need the hunts, hill farmers are the hunts!
  14. Right. The best game you can play is the "see if they believe you" game. Do NOT do this to important people, like doctors, or surgeons. But everyone else try and make up the most fabulous way to injure yourself possible. My favourites were I was wrestling this bear and.... She was a lot of woman... I fell off Blackpool tower, good job that mattress broke my fall really... A really hard bit of turkey just broke my jaw... Sorry pal, all the best
  15. Some people need their heads knocking to bang some sense into them. I know how carp it is to get injured over the hols chief, but for me it means that next year I will appreciate being able to have proper food on crimble day! Lots of films and reading
  16. Especially in the fells here in the lakes no keeper, lamper, or team of guns can match the packs for foxes killed. Hunting is the best method of fox-control going.
  17. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I am sure your the sort of guy that wouldn't hesitate to throw a drunk boy half your age and size of a train.
  18. Completly off topic, but my latin has gone carp since I left school. "Manage the affairs of another man to the excess of their own"?
  19. Bicycle ride from Cheshire - Hollyhead, Dublin - Galway and back again. Other than that a week in Cornwall and a week in the highlands shooting at grouse and deer.
  20. She kept making comments about the size of my feet too....
  21. I was in for 4 days before crimbo and must admit I was very impressed. That TV/Phone/Internet/Films (Even though they won't let you on arbtalk) is great for £5 a day or whatever it is. All that blood pressure taking annoyed the hell out of me but the nurse who didn't quite do her shirt up made it all worth while...
