  1. I agree, it's an open forum as long as it isn't personnal I have no problem with people throwing their opinions in, its how we learn stuff, that and doing. However someone that signs on, doesn't introduce themselves and posts something so stupid as that (both of the questions had been covered if you read the post) is just being a pain in the proverbial, in my opinion.
  2. Marry a rich bird who owns a medium sized Scottish estate.
  3. Good to see your still here! More stories please, made a change from writing my thesis.
  4. At the moment it is pretty safe when parked at night. Always out of sight and blocked in by 1-3 cars depending who is about. It's more when parked up to go to the shops etc. that I'm worried about. The hydraulic lock is a good idea but bloody pricey, a TOAD for £90 or wahtever they are is a lot more doable
  5. Who has fitted extra security stuff to their truck? I'm looking at putting a TOAD immobiliser to my old landy as they seem to have a habit of getting nicked... What else do you lot recommend?
  6. I'd go for a 200, minee is the 2.5TD (pre-20) gets a pretty awful 27 at the moment... find a good one at the right money and chuck whatever you want into it! Sam
  7. £100? For that? What planet are you living on!

    snow

Snow in Cheshire, all afternoon but stopped now.
  9. No, I have only come across 13 groups of walkers tresspassing compared to 0 4x4s, and 3 horses. The greenlane going over one part of the moor is very popular with the local landrover club and other people on motor bikes and 4x4s. Never had any problem with them going off the routes. I suppose it might be because they are more likely to get banned, so are more carefull - they seem to see it as a gift rather than a "you cant get rid of me, this is a public foopath" that walkers have.
  10. Spending a lot of time doing management work on high ground estates (grouse moors, hill farms etc.) at the moment and seeing more and more of the damage caused on/near public access routes by walkers, bikes, horses, motor bikes and 4x4s. Interestingly the people that seem to cause the most damage are those on foot and mountain bikers. It is the public footpaths really get the hammering, sometimes 15ft wide without any vegitation but soil. The "green lanes" used by the powered lot have more rutted damage but normally only one set of tyre marks. When stopped because they are not on ROW walkers tend to be aggressive and the horse riders apologetic, I'm yet to find any motor powered stuff "off piste" as such, compared to 13 lots of walkers. Can someone explain how its big noisy 4x4s that are killing the countryside? Why is there nothing in place to educate the walkers?
  11. Posting this on behalf of my parents. If anyone has any waste timber going they don't want to process then we will collect from site. Homebaked cakes (and possibly money) available to swap Timber we take will not be sold on, just burnt in the rayburn and burner Obviously this is not relevant to most people, just a thought. Cheers, Sam
  12. Cheers lads. It was originally white, all the inside still is, so I might take it back to that - who knows. Had a chat with the old owner today, turns out there has been two owners. First owner was Holly Branson (daughter of Sir Richard apparently) who used it for driving round their estate and feeding horses, and then this nice old chap who has only got rid of it because of the new emissions regs in London. Three folders full of paperwork, every MOT since it was registered, every invoice and owner history. Every bit of work he had done was with original Landrover parts. Must admit, I'm more mud than polish, a steam clean at most!
  13. Cheers John, at the price I paid (touch lots and lots and lots of wood) it could be a steal. Engine has only got 70k on the clock, one owner since new, and enthusiast who used it to walk the dogs and the odd greenlane. Paint needs tidying up though!
  14. Hurrah! Found a suitable beast... 1988 2.5TD (cheaper to insure than a 200). Have some plans for it, nothing silly - a musical playing device, new headlining and acoustic carpeting, some nice mud/all terrains and a roofrack for the canoe. Paint job (Keswick Green) to come in summer I hope!
  15. Cheers fellas, sorted now. One 90 hardtop for pick up on saturday
  16. I have no idea how to reply that. But it is awful on many levels. Has he thought of running like hell for the Border?
  17. What about a Middle meet for both the southern softies and their .410s and us proper men and our muskets? West Midlands Shooting school is a goodun, dont know how far it is from the big smoke though? It's actually a hell of a long way from london.... next location idea please Just a thought
  18. You'd think so wouldn't you. I'm struggling.
  19. Station wagon or hardtop, up to £3k or maybe a bit more. Looking for something soon! Sam 07948309142. (Steve I have tried posting this in trader with no luck, do you mind it being here?)
  20. Excellent, cheers boys. While I'm here, If anyone has or knows of a Defender for less than £3k, a good one, let me know please, looking for one to buy ASAP
  21. What's the best shop for Defender accessories? Craddock has been my go too, be he can be quite pricey.
  22. Shooting Sailing Polo Life (Polo pic isn't mine)
