  1. We have a 350 the build quality is very good infact that was Abigail factor in our choice. Timber access is safe and good very fast cycle time and don't discount circle saw as thee is less down time with sawdust also 160 ton before spare blade goes on then only 45 to sharpen and replace a few tips( ass put dirty wood in it). In my opinion you need log deck to be using the machine at full potential. I can easily cut 15 boxes in a day that's 22.5 cube but it could go faster ie i let the splitter return before starting next cut oh and that is replacing box and refilling table this just my way and experience some will differ
  2. Not to derail thread but can't aspen be rebated as diesel is as it would not really be used as road fuel and as said if it was nearer to petrol prices it would help
  3. i was told as long as its not full throttle for long periods ie big diameter cutting as it gets lube on down throttle and my357xp still feels a1 3 years later alot of time sitka thinning
  4. can this be a reaction to the blade that cut this or oil on the blade as we sometimes get this on the cut side of aring of firewood usually elm but sometimes sycamore as said only where the blade has touched very confusing
  5. why do you not run an engine witha reduction gearbox to apto shaft our local engineer is going to do this for us reeing up our tractor we only need 480 rpm to run processor
  6. i have seen willow chipped and put in huge heaps at roadside awaiting the completion of the biomass plant i take it this must not reach the temp to ignite outside also will it not rot as it has sat for close on ayear now:confused1:
  7. how long do you keep larch before you cut it for kindling or do you cut it and dry it in net
  8. second that, that is the one we always go to .if you need anything heavy shifted give me shout got tele handler etc very local to the job:001_smile:
  9. dunno but its got a damn good chippy
  10. is that anstruther fife ?
  11. i do have another one a tool carrier which is air cooled with no electric gizmos all levers etc and is brilliant runs our processor on a sniff of diesel also on forwarder as it has massive ground clearance due to portal axles and no bonnet out front to obstruct view or get damaged better for the woods than the xylon oh and the hour meter stopped working at 14500 hrs a few years ago !!!!!!as said with the xylon 3 main faults are turbo clutch(this makes it semi auto) wiring loom which i am told was made by lada and the bearing supporting the gear in the box the bearing is an annoying 8pound to buy . as we were advised repair all 3 at once as wiring needs to come off to gain access to gear box and clutch is only minutes work from bearing . and to answer your question yes if i didnt have this one i would get another
  12. yes i have one first class machine 140 hp 50kph front rear arms and pto arms are double acting 7 ton? rear lift ,twin air suspended seats 540 750 1000 pto air conditioned altogether not bad as for working it the bad points are not good ground clearance and they are quite tall for hittng branches as for perfomance check them out on tube they just keep pulling and are massively built but here is the big downside repairs are very very expensive as i have found out a small bearing in gearbox that drives hydraulics failed so no drive to repair is a hefty 7000 pounds as the tractor is on rails and needs dismantled 100 hours work at specialists hope that gives you some info
  13. this is the first year we tried selling soft wood douglas and norway spruce very dry and going well 500 nets this week alone hard wood still selling though not as fast as iwould like
  14. what length is a standard bar these days on a duo?
  15. when the saw is assembled it has its own brand bar why does it get changed to show him "sawing"
  16. i use a357xp every day and thought this was the bees knees but given a shot of a346 xp today by an instructor teaching in our woods today and as said its an absolute belter much more nimble and not far behind in power on smaller stems and snedding i might add one to my wish list
  17. try the kingdom of fife the clue is in the name some beautiful country and sea side especially the east neuk round to st andrews
  18. i would attach a bottle of clean diesel directly to the fuel pump to eliminate any problems with filters fuel lines etc and if it starts work back all the way to the tank
  19. that was the point i was making with log deck it allows you to use your machine at full capacity i believe it is an investment that pays with every bag
  20. that is exactly the solution we had now run it off fendt tool carrier which is air cooled no worries of burst fan belt and cooked engine plus only sips fuel unlike high hp tractors think its about 70 hp but with 14500 plus hours maybe less anyway it does the job the other thing you should think about is how to switch pto off instantly in case of blade jamming and believe me this does happen although it should not our tractor has a clutch on pto pull on string out back window stops it dead 135 might need some bodging
  21. i dont know about 135 picking it up it is heavy but it should power it cause i had to borrow a small 35 hp estate tractor one weekend and it worked it you can also get them powered by electric if you want i know what you mean loading on tractor side being dodgy the advantage to having it on your side is you can sort out timber easier than walking away from the machine the posch has tct blade good for 160 ton before changing to spare blade supplied so far no complaints
  22. i dont know about formula you would have to consider the size of product used as this has a massive effect on out put as you will know ie same time for 2 logs as 8 if the material is small as for infeed table yes this makes a big difference to keep your machine at full capacity as the next log is pushing the first one in so continuos cutting allowing a second person on forklift to remove full bags and top up deck we use posch s350 with infeed table which we had to use without a table for a while as there was no space for it where an estate had stacked the timber and this was definately slower.the posch set up allows you to position the table on the tractor side of the processor or your side if you know what i mean you obviously reverse hydraulic hoses hope this helps
  23. beautiful or what is this or can this be agri forestry rated what weight is it
