  2. we are currrently having problems with a neighbour complaining about chainsaw noise which is a totally seperate debate but has anyone got experience of large air/pneumatic saws i need to cut big stuff into rings or atleast shorter to billet i understand i will still need a power unit running but hopefully a bit quieter than a saw thanks
  3. had same problem with stihl blower was told to take exhaust off fill with petrol and burn out carbon ,be careful but now works perfect so done same with slow reving strimmer
  4. just to add to the mix vosa visited us last week very nice helpful guy inspected records vehicle etc general questions asks if we were busy which we replied we fortunately were also in the middle of a major repair on our machinery at night times he said watch who you say that to if you intend working days as well as even though we are tacho excempt total working hours apply strage one i thought but did not want to rufffle his feathers!
  5. not the best starer tractor but fendt xylon is very capable ie front and back pto with arms also front and back front loader also snow plough on front arms pinned to belly so equal pressure when dosing 40k air brakes and twin air suspended seats but i would think valtra tick all the boxes
  6. that is exactly what i tried spud noise reduction with boxes bales in front but to be honest the processor is not that noisey the problem i have with his arguement is he cuts his grass every sunday 10 am onwards this does not bother me in the least nor his boys on moto x bikes we have all done it butme sawing through the week once or twice amonth is not a lot to be fair so after council having no problem the 3120 will be coming out sunday just to let him hear what noise is then he might be thankful we have a processor to cut our wood rant over does anyone have tech spech on hydraulic saws though cheers
  7. yes as said it is scottish cotton thistle which grows to at least 8 feet if you support them they are quite nice in a border producing 50+ heads on them i grew them a while back and are bi annual also garden birds love the seeds
  8. yes in the woods not always cutting same rate doing estate maintenance ditching fencing etc that is 20 per hour 25 to indivduals private customers doing similar jobs to be honest dont have a problem asking and getting that rate which i dont think is high considering the value of equipment .plumbers electricans etc here 35+ for a van and bag of spanners and yes experience although each to thier own
  9. info is i live on and rent farm and steading the neighbour recently started developing chalet park where he has placed pitches 6 m from boundary wall the cutting is limited and never out of working hours .thanks so far for replies but i was hoping for saw info ie what size of bar power etc should i look at as i have no experience of these thanks
  10. any info thoughts on above the reason being i am needing to cut big hardwood into rings for logs i have big chainsaws 3120 395 etc but neighbour is not happy with noise can you run hydraulics off mini or midi digger power
  11. yes they will i had a meeting with estate factors and through explaining realistic needs and costs we came away with £20 per hour doing sitka avr 12inch dia tonnage was not an option due to location and conditions same rate to fell sycamore for scottish natural heritage which i think is a fair rate to both parties
  12. i am no tech buff and you seem well clued up but let me add my opinion on the matter i agree with garden kit regarding spark plug i also once went to purchase a low cost saw and was told that because of the crank being 2 piece? it would go out of time when hot and give problems starting etc this could have been a sales pitch but seems plausable
  13. can you also post phone number please thanks

  23. we have an old swmill saw and table mounted on low trailer this has about 42 ich blade the bench is wound past the blade and is powered by six cylinder county engine this used to cut all the estate rails posts etc i do not use this now and will be for sale i might stick i on ebay or open to offers first dont know how o put up pictures thouh
  24. protech are very good machines we have a 250kg on or 8060 jcb this is a excellent combination with side tilt and the digger controls doing the rest .this is not unsteady even with the leg off the ground and the reach up or down hill over ditches can not be matched by trator/boxer etc also 30 seconds drops it off to put bucket for grading on or timber grab .i dont know how to put up photo or video of it in action
