  1. my point exactly if there is no road duty cant the tax duty be lowered ie subsidised if you like to help our industry same as farmers maybe a simplistic view but valid surely
  2. does anyone agree that this type of fuel should be subsidised by the government as is agri/fishing fuel "red diesel" as this could easily be dyed as its not road fuel never mind it being more expensive than standard petrol.i contacted our local fuel suppler at the highland show and they had never heard of it!!!!! the guy was interested in supplying if he could get a hold of it.any comments appreciated.

  6. hi guys can you give me a daily rate not tonnage for thinning norway spruce.this is for cutting in front of harvester(this thing is wierd on 3 point linkage on tractor with a winch ,pulls tree on to rollers but cant take larger stuff) anyway rates would be good cheers:thumbup:

  8. i would have agreed mate but he says others not on the stream suffering .i woul look to spray drift but the barley would not have been sprayed with round up already do you think ?

  10. i agree entirely with log baron, we are log suppliers and can burn as much would as i like but thats not to say the wood is "free" counting time . i have alog burner in the living room hooked up to oil burner via a baffle system works good as sometimes logs dont give out enough heat as i to rent a farm house not well insulated either.on a cost basis ican easily burn a cube a week which really would be better sold for money for oil but im an old timer who likes the fire with the missus watchin telly:thumbup1:

  15. yes thats right boys scotch pine. shown to me out of old dictionary by my old uncle who always referred to them as such .he is very well read and i didnt like to pick him up on this point but thought i must, i had never heard of it has anyone else by the way this is not an american dictionary.
  16. thanks stephen .the job is in hardwood mainly sycamore with the wood being retained by the owner so only 3 inch down needing chipped back on the ground.i might be going in with them on anew machine and would really like to know what i should be looking at. im thinking 3or4 weeeks chipping . trees are 30feet and needing thinned. the ground is good, odd soft bit, do they sink very easy ,can you text me your rate for the chipper and i can get a price made up for the job, he may decide to leave the branches but this is next to a walk to an old chapel and would look unsightly imo (need educating some folk:sneaky2) sorry number is 07740678926:blushing:
  17. old iveco 4x4 awesome off road left the disco 300 com spinning cross axled .it has front and back diff locks the front being elec operated.pay load 4ton and turns on a sixpence . engine is crap way under powered 2.5 fitted might try 2.8 turbo

  19. i run all our huskys on oregon bars once they need replaced seem to work better on longer bars , looking at that bar i think dressing out the damage would be too much. as for 050/058 look on the bar it tells you which one is correct. what you been cutting lol:001_tt2:
  20. any advice on tracked chipper before i buy/hire one . what make would you suggest i dont require a huge machine as wood will be kept for logs so ithink 6inch would be enough?also what is the weekly or monthly rate to hire as i would like to try first thanks in advance:001_smile:

  22. thats more like the dimensions i was thinking of stephen i will research that .btw hedges not allowed to be pulled out most be cut over ,dont ask why as they are getting replanted any way at a rate of 6/ m staggered rows thanks for the pics though
  23. thanks the jcb is an excavator not wheel type one guy(my brother 100% trust) holds the bush on top ,push in, cut the base, lift out the way on to fire or to side if any good wood.h&s always observed before i get ambushed:sneaky2:
  24. sorry if i confused the matter there, nu-shot is the product not the wetting agent.it contains 2.4-d/dicamba. in knapsack sprayer75ml/litre water
