  1. Could well be right, I've not idea just what timberwolf have said
  2. apparently there's not much in it, consumption wise between the efi petrols they fitting now and the diesels. Also, taken from the timberwolf white paper on the new chipper rules; Stage V diesel engines will be more expensive than the current diesel offerings due to the mechanical fuel systems being replaced with more complex and costly fuel and emission cleaning systems. In addition, the new diesel engines will not be able to run on rebated fuel (‘red diesel’) due to the emissions legislation and engine configuration. Thus, the running costs of new diesel engines will also increase, meaning petrol units will be the most cost effective option to run (when taking into account the full cost of ownership).
  3. Doubt it. I don't know anyone who likes the gm150 tbh. Everyone will move to petrol when the 35hp diesel engines run out
  4. exactly, i just use white diesel from the pump, comes in at right around £3 per transit fill and switching to petrol wont cost me any more
  5. are the postage for stihl saws rules different in france or do you have a friendly dealer who'll post out stihl stuff?
  6. Echo look to be within a tenner or so of husky and stihl on most models?
  7. Same. She marched me down the docs for a q and a session.. after which i told her its not happening! Can't face being played with down there
  8. cant be worse than a genuine 660 chainbreak, handle melts on those and dont work anyway
  9. Yeah I put one on an old 200t I've got knocking around. Carb seems fine
  10. exactly right, good learning experience for not much money. Haven't used mine much yet but was impressed with its cut when i did have it out looking forward to seeing what punishment it takes before going wrong
  11. ah right, got this one spare as mine wore out recently and let water in and found someone selling 2 new old stock on ebay
  12. be good to see how it runs
  13. Do this. Its the same saw but without the transparent fuel tank bit
  14. Maybe its an older design. Think its wired into the starter as wont start unless its pressed. Do timberwolf etc not run with the side panels taken off? Cant really see the issue, no different to opening your car bonnet while its running to diagnose a problem
  15. Doesn't sound right. I've got a Jensen which is very similar setup, the hood sensor only needs to be engaged when starting the engine on mine? Will run with hood up fine once it's going
  16. Nothing wrong with used if happy to spend a bit of time getting it up to scratch. When I got my first chipper was a little timberwolf 18/100 I paid 2k for. Had it 2 years and never had to spend on it apart from a service and blades. It saved lots of time and fuel. I reckon in fuel costs alone travelling to unload it prob paid for itself in a few months, went from 2-3 trips a day to every day or 2 and then found closer tip sites so saved even more time and fuel.
  17. If this lad can manage to get his one running right I'm sure you can too
  18. only if people are buying, there's a saying, don't catch a falling knife. I'd imagine they'll be impossible to shift when a fall occurs
  19. the problem with greece was noone paid their taxes to the country went bust, til they got bailed out. I worry bitcoin will hide transactions so people dont pay their share and we all suffer
  20. Doesnt make sense as a place to hold money when its so open to hacks and value being up and down more than a prozzies knickers. One exchange on south korea has gone bust this week when lost 25% of the coins it held for its customers.. Money in the bank is insured up to about £80k so cant be lost if you just want to have some in a place you can access. If someone said to you 'ive got a string of computer code that does nothing but you can send it to other people securely and its only £11,000' anyone in their right mid would laugh their heads off and run away! Call it an investment and spam everyones emails with it to build up chat and people are all over it??
  21. well a pyramid scheme you sell something to the next guy for more than you paid with the promise that it'll be worth even more in the future so he'll make money on it. I cant for the life of me see any other value in a bitcoin or one of the many other copycat 'coins' out there. Yeah a few limited places will accept them, such as cex, but with the fluxuations between picking up a dvd and getting to the counter the price will change sunstantially! I couldn't accept payment in bitcoin for a job on the 1st not knowing if my days work will be worth the cost of a loaf of bread by end of the month, let alone pay the rent! It seems to me it went up on pure speculation that it'll do so forever. When there no more money going into the system what's the value going to do? No the chap on the vid didnt call it a con but did call it out as a bubble where lots of people are going to lose money, and given his history i'd listen to the guy, he ran those schemes and made alot of money off the backs of the wider population. maybe one of these currencies will be used for trade in the future but we're along way from regulations and worldwide adoption
  22. I'd say the new futures listing combined with not as much new money going into the system has caused the massive drops in the last few days. I really do see it as a pyramid scheme more I hear about it. Its literally a computer code that you sell to someone else and people think its worth £10k + ? Saw this vid as well, and conmen can see a con a way off..
  23. Gone quiet this week so I've not had it out
  24. have you got new oil seals?
