  1. Noone, just seemed logical to me!
  2. I remember doing an e-type as a kid. The paint job was a bit ropey as I remember
  3. its like a mass hysteria, noone doing anything rationally. If someone said you can buy a computer code that doesn't actually do anything for £10,000 that last year we were charging £100 for you'd laugh at them surely?
  4. It reminds me of the crazes kids go through like fidget spinners and loom bands. Most people will get bored soon
  5. Yeah only ran shortly and stopped so didn't get chance to tune it at all but it lives! Will tacho it when get it going again
  6. Luckily all that is fine as only ran for a few seconds. Found a new one on eBay in the UK for £20 so ordered that as don't want to wait but also ordered a new one from them as needed some rubbers and a spring anyway so will have a spare then
  7. No it's forged into the flywheel on this saw so can't reuse it
  8. Yeah started it.. briefly! Confession to make, in my haste last night I forgot to locktite the flywheel nut on/ do it up enough so it came lose and sheared the pin so have had to order another flywheel. Sticking with the chinese stuff though and hopefully be here tomorrow / monday
  9. There are none! its not technically a do it yourself kit saw, its 'complete repair parts' circumnavigate any legal issues maybe? I got hold of the workshop manual, exploded diagram and youtube vids to make it
  10. I'm not sure I believe the numbers they show on saw kits having been sold, can't see tens of thousands of them being built in garages but who knows! The one to look for, which they tell me they are working on (trust me, I've asked!) Is a 200t kit. If those are good quality they'll dominate.. and just maybe the manufactures will start building solid reliable saws again seeing at those are the models being sold on huztl
  11. yeah order it and if anything you're not happy with swap it out
  12. I'm not overly worried, plenty of sealant on there and sandpapered it as best as I could. Also now I've built it I can see how easy swapping the cylinder and piston would be (which was the point of the build for me.. getting the knowledge/ confidence to go deep into a saw) If the pot and piston go wrong can get a new one from where got the saw for under £15 delivered, or they do a big bore one to make it a 65cc saw!
  13. No and no. Which is why took it on! Nearly all done with a t27 torx spanner, socket set and regular screwdriver.
  14. Done! ... I think! Had to backtrack a bunch of times from missing stuff. The 2 screws on the side handle are the wrong ones, should be self tappers but aren't in the kit. Haven't fired it but sounds good when pull the starter. Feels very close to a genuine one, much better than I expected to be honest!
  15. Mine was 14 days and delivered by parcel force in the end. Got a text from them the day before
  16. I have 100% faith in your judgement! Puzzled out the chain adjuster now
  17. Thanks, done loads of research never heard of that one, will pop the flywheel and clutch off and do that before starting it
  18. Chainsbreak now fully functional. Took a while to solve how it works. Must have had it apart 10 times. Just carb, AV bits and covers to go I think
  19. 50/50, prob not, just working out which screws needed to get the chainbreak handle on, got a pile and cant work it out yet
  20. Quick update to the questions, I paid £155 including delivery and a 18 inch bar and chain. Bit more now as that was a black Friday deal. Regarding the case I've no equipment like that to hand so first side I tapped the crankshaft in with a socket so as not to damage the thread, to join them just pressed by hand until close enough the bolts could grip and just did them up a bit each gong around to get it straight. Few hiccups so far but fairly straightforward, forgot.the implies line so had take the handle off again. Currently can't see how the fuel line fits the carb so just fitted the exhaust with the plan of top handle next to can get the chain break attached and functioning
  21. Just placed it on to check and seems fine
  22. Hadnt seen that mentioned before. Had a look last night as was ok by eye. Handle is on now so will get to the flywheel next
  23. Engine is on. Bit nerve wracking getting it over the piston rings. Bolts came with locktite already applied
