  1. Just got in from taking the kids, just knock doors where i know the people or have decorations up of some description, keeps it friendly and avoids annoying people not into it. Some people go all out and do lights, dress up etc and its nice for the kids
  2. it you want to use a grinder its rollers out time, top roller easy enough and lifts out when you undo the wire holding it down, bottom is alot more involved
  3. The Americans are hilarious on there. None of them can climb a tree and they're allergic to all forms of ppe. One guy on there a while back was bragging the was such a great arborist and often spends 14 hours at a time working on one tree without coming down!
  4. Yup, have to disagree with pretty much everything said. I love my triple extensions as they are very sturdy and lightweight and will get me to a decent anchor point to work from, and not working from the ladder so it can be knocked away when I drop a branch, it's removed first!! So no messing about tying it in either
  5. Good post. I don't like working off ladders particularly but for access why wouldn't you? I reduced this birch this morning, had to go up twice as the spread was too far to climb across. Very leggy, did all the climbing in 45 mins due to the 20 second ascent, wouldn't have trusted a union I'd not inspected to get up there on
  6. just tried a trial run of how id use bitcoin on your site as need files anyway and i'm well confused! Got as far as the link to go but the coins, then a bitcoin website where you buy the coins off people at varying rates(?) to download them to a virtual wallet I guess? I don't think its for me! Also just occured, wont it make it harder to put business transactions through the books? if I buy £100 of coins from my business account I could spend that anywhere with no evidence, where at the mo i use quickbooks which scans my bank account so can prove where money went to
  7. we had a lad start once who was asked to put a ladder up the middle tree of a group of three. It took him three attempts to get the right tree...
  8. It will be interesting to see if its used much on your site. I cant see virtual currency taking off though tbh, all it does it add another layer to purchasing something and people like things easy, why turn money into another currency to get something when you can just put your card or paypal details in and job done?

    Tiny echo!

can recommend skyland for parts. Needed a worm great for the oil pump on a husky t540 a while back. Nearest husky dealer didn't keep them in stock (common part i'd have thought?!) so was a 5 day wait, was on my doorstep the next day from skyland, and half the price!
  10. That's just cutting your nose of despite your face, if another firm can't do stumps and I can then happy days, more money coming in for me
  11. Definitely. Did this one today after it had had 3 days of being hacked and slashed. Kept blunt side of the teeth on as some concrete around it, think it's the most I've ever put on a single stump
  12. Do enough quotes and you'll be the one who puts a stupid low price on a job, get it, regret it, and called too cheap by whoever else quoted. Swings and roundabouts
  13. Haha I was paying attention, the clamp is touching them and the b*****ds gave me a ticket for a wheel on one once! Regards security I'm the same, clamp on if it's gonna be out of sight unless backed into a driveway
  14. Defo keep the steel sides. That's how mine is setup and no problems
  15. That's so the traffic warden doesn't impound it for working in double yellows
  16. that's alot of hours a day? is shredding slower than chipping? (never used one so no idea) my chipper prob runs about an hour a day when its out on average. I've worked out its around £3 in fuel to fill the transit with chip (white diesel)
  17. Is that RRP or quoted price from a dealer? I was expecting about 12ish plus vat
  18. What's your actual fuel spend per week/day whatever on red diesel? Would petrol make a massive swing?
  19. Hows the build quality, any idea on price? quite tempted..
  20. Looks the part. Get some more vids of it in action up on your page when you get time
  21. the part you needs is pretty cheap. i replaced the fuel tank on mine and wasn't the worlds worst job if you take photos. The cylinder cover would be the next bit to come off so i reckon a 2 hour job should do it http://www.skylandequipment.com/husqvarna-t540xp-cylinder-cover-516-03-46-02.html
  22. I know someone who has a new transit and is towing a Vermeer 190 behind it. As far as I know it does it fine, are clutch problems common on the newer ones?
  23. Looks like you put the upgraded spring on there? Prob not the wisest move as the older ones stretched rather than snap the case. When you repair it get the older style back on there
  24. I reckon they were worried they gonna go bust like monarch and were worried they weren't gonna get the vat paid this quarter
  25. Sounds a ridiculous idea to me. Rent a yard handball stuff on and off the trailer and pile up branches and rent in a chipper every few months in the hope of selling a bit? Rather than buy a small chipper and tip as you go for free if find the right places?
