  1. I think your kidding your self on this one Andy. Believe it or not! Even arborist like a bargain. I'm not saying anyone would knowingly buy stolen gear (although lots do). A cheap saw is a cheap saw, when things are hard. IMO lots of the smaller (saws, etc) stolen gear won't be them many miles away from where they were nicked from. The bigger plant/machines! I'm not sure if most of it is going abroad? Or is mendiplogs buying it all?
  2. Omitted to put his location? The title of the thread might give it away!
  3. Rough old scrumpy! 'Twas a lovely drop of apple juice. Good to meet you Pete.
  4. Never done a cash job in my life!....Don't think it would pay for me.
  5. That sounds strong money Ben! Would you not be better off with IBC cages?
  6. There will always be yards that will pay in cash for hooky metal. I'm told that it is going on at a scrap yard in Suffolk.
  7. Research complete! I've been to the scrap yard today. I spoke to the bloke that runs the yard about the no fixed abode situation. He told me he didn't know anything about people of no fixed abode being paid in cash. Bacs or cheque in the name of the person with the ID only. His words.
  8. And pay the lads a stand-by/retention fee.
  9. I did indeed know that. Do you know why she did it?
  10. Anyone remember what Mrs Thatcher labeled Mandela?
  11. It's a bit woof! Is that the buck off a cabstar?
  12. It's been a bit windy today, Jon. Seen a few trees over! Saying that I've done quite a few miles.
  13. I had a reply to this! Then I deleted it, 3 times. Perhaps, just perhaps some of us on here should think A little more before we type. I'm has guilty as most!
  14. The fact that you pay for meals when you and the lads are working away is a nice gesture! The sick pay situation is fine IMO. No way on this earth would I drive to your job or even be a passenger in a van if you weren't paying me.
  15. You edited my response to suit your needs:thumbdown: How many people do you know that have had homes compulsory purchased? Yes I know it happens, I got my first job on the roads on the back of it (A50) bypass in Stoke. But let's be fair, it's few and far between. Anyway, about that hostel close to your kids school........
  16. Why don't I own my place Lee?
  17. There in lies the problem Lee. It would be your business if I was to come and build something close to your place ( without) planning permission. Students were just an example! What if I decided I was going to build a hostel to house peadophiles next to your kids school without planning permission. Would this be ok ? .
  18. ^^^this. I left my home city, worked on the roads, lived in a caravan. There are lads that I went to school with that are still bumming about Stoke, moaning about how hard things are!
  19. Ok mate, how about a block of flats, to accommodate the local students.
