  1. :lol:written by someone who had never been hungry and cold!
  2. I've used mid Anglia in the past. I believe they have been bought out/ gone into partnership with Crowland. Not spoken to them yet as I'm pretty sure parts will need to be ordered for the motor that is coming off the roof. It's more of a panicking works manager than a rush job.
  3. Hey Ted. If I have to go up on the crane I will get you a few pictures. Happy new year to you and yours. All the best. Egg.
  4. I couldn't find a definitive answer on the net this morning. That's why I asked the question on here, knowing that some of the lads on here use cranes a lot more than I do. It looks like the job will have to wait a few days.
  5. I've got a rush job to do on the roof of a factory, I've worked on this site before and always had pedestrian access on to the roof. The problem I've got is the factory is having a lot of work done blocking my way on to the roof. Can I man ride on the crane without being in a cage? The reason I ask is the gantry is between two pitched roofs and I don't think the crane driver will get me close enough for me to get out of the cage and on to said gantry.
  6. You can tip at Anglian Waters sewage works in Raeburn road south. they have a composting plant on their site. You'd be best to give them a call first. Not sure if you have to pay.
  7. Why don't ya go back then?....I really don't get this "I'd be back in a heart beat" sort of thing.......you only live once fella!
  8. Why not! Because it's not all it's cracked up to be. The grass ain't greener over there!......though it might be a different shade!
  9. :blushing:sorry, misread ya.
  10. Fair play to the company that sorted your key.......not too many small, medium size companies employ apprentices these days!
  11. Is it because we don't want to pay and train apprentices any more ?
  12. All looking good Chris:thumbup: Look after them who look after you!
  13. Why Australia? I went to Melbourne when one of my brothers married an Aussie. I also visited him in Sydney. So only a limited knowledge of Austraila admittedly, but I for one would not up root my family to go there.
  14. There are plenty of good trucks out there for twenty two hundred quid!.....Cabstar's are a cracking truck!.......you'd want to be a good driver to take one on a grass verge.
  15. Life isn't just about working! Is it? I'm as guilty as most for grabbing the Queens shilling. But Christmas is a time for friends and family!
  16. Alvin! If ya don't like the day out "don't go". But please let us who do enjoy the day out enjoy our selfs.
  17. [quote name=kev7937; My partners grandad flew this bad boy and has a few medals to show for it' date=' one of my grandparents was in communications and the other was in dad's army so not so heroic unfortunately[/quote] Mrs egg says: every one was a hero, her grandad wouldnt tell her anything except hitler would have got him for sure if it wasn't for the old baccy tin in his pocket, nan lost her girls to evacuation for the duration, and some lady she never met cared for them. Women, men, they all did something, home or away. Be proud, (I'm sure you are....)
  18. And then mrs egg dropped her pasty and it all went wrong....
  19. And the ladies...... One rode side saddle, a sight to see these days. She must have been a skilled rider!
  20. The pub hounds got the best vista though...
  21. Must have been over 500 supporters there.
  22. This is very true!...The fox should have a fair chance......blocking "bolt holes" stinks IMO.
