  1. I seem to remember in local paper- bloke got cancer- blamed on creosoted mantle piece.. A few years ago, so might have remembered it wrong..either way- agreed.💀
  2. Blunt chain quickly and carcinogenic 👎
  3. Got Draper Expert and Ace 1.6T. Both very similar and work well.
  4. The top plate has i think 2 or 3 lugs- attached to the stove top- don't try and prise it off or it may crack them off. Needs moving either clockwise ir anti clockwise- not sure. It is ptob also stuck on with sealant and ooss rust and crud. Like the other fella said- fitter will know. Prob suggest a flexi liner up chimney. The villager is a good solid stove.
  5. Or flue has to be sealed where fireplace top is- such as concrete surround. Best check with a stove fitter..
  6. If it has the round removable hotplate on top then you can switch it around. The flue would have to be a continuous flue right to the top of chimney if that's what you mean? I think max of 2 45 degree bends allowed..i can't think of any puns.
  7. Have a watch of August Hunicke on Youtube- he successfully uses techniques that you won't learn on a course here...make you're own mind up on the methods. He uses physics to his advantage.
  8. I thought if not determined within a certain time then can refer to Secretary of State- not him personally. However if you agreed to a time extension then its still in council hands. This applies to building- not sure re trees.
  9. I'm just trying to learn fungi- is it a Ganoderma australe?
  10. Hardly seen any acorns this year- southern North Yorkshire..
  11. I think it looks beyond worth keeping. 😕
  12. Anthracnose of willow-Drepanopezia sphaeroides. Might be thus. Fungal disease that affects Weeping and some contorted varieties.
  13. I live a few miles from Drax power station, etc. A few years ago i noticed apple trees covered in lichen. Previously, when the power stations were still burning coal, there was hardly any lichen on the branches.
  14. With conifer it's the sap or whatever it is👍
  15. It was Hawthorn- don't think got any sawdust, etc. in eye..
  16. I was reducing hedge other week and eye seemed to sting/sore and not be due to sweat, etc. Had wondered if the e10 had caused it. Had additive in as well..
  17. I think it will be- Summerfield Books i think the seller is... Thanks👍
  18. Does anyone recommend - The Body Language of Trees... by Klaus Mattheck. For tree inspections. It's £87. Is it worth it? Or any other recommended similar books? Thanks
  19. The 36v top handle seems to have more bollocks than the rear handle- but for safety get the rear handle for ground work. Better suited for hedge work. The 18v is great in the tree but i really would not use it for hedge work. A silky sugoi be better..or a billhook.
