  1. You are correct- i was unaware of this.
  2. What machines are you using? What vibe levels? With hedgecutters i've switched to cordless. Also for small stuff - cordless saws. Gloves don't help and prob tape not much. My grip affected.
  3. I'm not familiar with urban planning. I'm in rural area. Neighbour had an application refused. With planning applications you can appeal- but since this is not a normal application that follows the usual planning process then it appears there is no obvious means to appeal. Ombudsmen waste of time. I think in this instance you need a qualified town planning consultant or legal expert..👍
  4. I thought any new access needed to go through planning?? In which case 'lines of sight' may be more of an issue than affecting tree roots. Contact the council again for confirmation. If necessary put your application in. Wait months- find out all reasons for refusal/approval. Get expert in and appeal.. Might take a while...
  5. In defence of the Rock- it is a solid machine- touchwood😖. Re the B and S- i would prefer one to the Loncin on my powerwasher. Not saying other opinions are wrong... Just different.
  6. Maybe not as big as what you're looking for- Rock Machinery 13hp Venom. It chips pretty quick. I only put smaller stuff through it. Only jammed once - willow shoots that were too thin. It will chip thicker stuff but i keep anything over 1 1/2 for firewood. I know this would be impractical for most through.
  7. I seem to remember in local paper- bloke got cancer- blamed on creosoted mantle piece.. A few years ago, so might have remembered it wrong..either way- agreed.💀
  8. Blunt chain quickly and carcinogenic 👎
  9. Got Draper Expert and Ace 1.6T. Both very similar and work well.
  10. No- but i have the flat top version.
  11. The top plate has i think 2 or 3 lugs- attached to the stove top- don't try and prise it off or it may crack them off. Needs moving either clockwise ir anti clockwise- not sure. It is ptob also stuck on with sealant and ooss rust and crud. Like the other fella said- fitter will know. Prob suggest a flexi liner up chimney. The villager is a good solid stove.
  12. Or flue has to be sealed where fireplace top is- such as concrete surround. Best check with a stove fitter..
  13. If it has the round removable hotplate on top then you can switch it around. The flue would have to be a continuous flue right to the top of chimney if that's what you mean? I think max of 2 45 degree bends allowed..i can't think of any puns.
  14. Have a watch of August Hunicke on Youtube- he successfully uses techniques that you won't learn on a course here...make you're own mind up on the methods. He uses physics to his advantage.
  15. I thought if not determined within a certain time then can refer to Secretary of State- not him personally. However if you agreed to a time extension then its still in council hands. This applies to building- not sure re trees.
  16. I'm just trying to learn fungi- is it a Ganoderma australe?
  17. Hardly seen any acorns this year- southern North Yorkshire..
  18. At ground level...
  19. I think it looks beyond worth keeping. 😕
  20. Drepanopeziza
  21. Anthracnose of willow-Drepanopezia sphaeroides. Might be thus. Fungal disease that affects Weeping and some contorted varieties.
  22. I live a few miles from Drax power station, etc. A few years ago i noticed apple trees covered in lichen. Previously, when the power stations were still burning coal, there was hardly any lichen on the branches.
