  1. the cap dosn't push the excess oil out the way like with the petrol cap just don't fill the oil right up usually seems to solve it
  2. there was an article in the latest forestry journel with quite a few of these machines in it peoviding a bigger scope to look at some of them looked quite interesting especially the micro harvesters and brush cutting atachments
  3. when we run out off vented bag we lay a large pile of bags on the floor heat a rubble fork on the stove we have lunch around and jam it through the pile off bags as its the quickest way to do it
  4. no i meant thats when were on tree surgery jobs nothing goes for the fowarder that is small enough to do anything other than top and tail
  5. we do anything and everything but i was always taught if its small enough end over end it into a pile for the fowarder if not just leave it nothing to be shorter than the fowarder bunks on comercial jobs with domestic or tree surgery work dut to whichevr size is most efficient to handle i think there is one felling bar between everyone in the lock up but most the time wedges are used
  6. who has these and what do u think of them a couple of the guys at work have them yard work but seeing as i always need to be wearing a helmet are there any fm radio ones that clip in to the helmets also what make are best the ones they use at work are hellber, are the sordin or peltor ones any different
  7. wow u lot are organised we usually just carry a whole spare saw as its easiest and just cut the logs to the appropriate size that u just pick it up with ur hands i'm the only person as well that uses a guide when filing

    thanks it is for ride maintanence but one of the sites has a few stumps that were never grubbed out weres the cheapest place to get a flail mower ??
  9. i know of it happening i don't know what the tittle was but the correct name for this is a pickey plait sorry if that has to be changed but it is the name it is done not only so that they can identify the horse but it is done in a loop to make it easy to grab the horse in the dark with out a leadrope and the horse won't pull they are also usually smeered in mud to make them difficult to remove if horse is found like this remove the plait straight away and put lots of which ever oil is used in the equine idustry into the tail as it makes the plaits very hard to do. most the time if there is no plait wen they return apperently they won't steal the horse

    does anyone know how conventional toppers work in woodland enviroments the flail toppers are incredibally expensive but how would the conventinal ones fair up against stumps and branches on the ground

  12. shb hire and varios other vehicle hire companys have transit tippers
  13. i don't know what the chassis layout is like but with some of the more compact petrol 6inch chipper probally one that falls in the <750kg trailer catagory could this be fitted between the chassis at the back with the crane or chipbox over the top of the chipper with an arch in the middle of the chipbox or extended stabalisers on the crane

  17. we have been clearing woods for the last couple of days just using brushcutters it might take a while but everyone i work with enjoys it an fs 450 will handle most things and one of the varios specialist heads the brogios banned but others are available
  18. i have a 54 plate l200 and the engines gone pop with a £3000+ replacment cost before this it was a briliant truck and fits 2 bulk bags perfect

    if where i work the telehandlers all ways busy doing other things and can barely spare the time to move and stack the bag so we use one of these instead

    sorry forgot to say its a great desighn aswell far better than the cage we have from norway and always have the problem that we cant unhook the when there full yesturday there was 2 of us for 15 miniutes trying to get the frame off
  22. what about magnums they do one with composite toe caps and i think original swat do aswell

    if thoose chains had screws in them u could place the bags down and move onto the next one without starting the machines
  24. are u sure its not desighned to have one of the special torque clutch thingies at the machine end i can't see how it can be to short as u'd pull tthe propshaft in two trying to fit it
  25. what about telehandler MO1 incase a firm has tractors or quadbike tickets
