  1. Hello, I know a lot of you do some milling with Alaskans etc and I was wondering if anyone could make me a mantle for my fireplace. I've just removed my old fire surround and I've opened the fireplace up ready for the new stove. We live in a little cottage and it has oak floors etc so a nice chunky bit of oak would be great. I don't want some perfectly straight new looking thing. I really like the stuff you guys make out of old stumps and normally useless but of timber. I'd rather pay someone here than get it from a stove shop. Here's a pic of the fireplace opened up. Sorry it's the wrong way up! No idea how to rotate it on this phone. Thanks. Callum.
  2. Yeah that seems a little odd to me too. I always thought it was the sarkin that gave the roof its strength. Looks like your about to use tiles, I've only ever dealt with slate.
  3. I eat nothing in the morning apart for occasionally a bacon roll for the burger van round the corner from me. I really should start eating a proper breakfast but I'd rather sleep a little longer.
  4. Does this happen to anyone else? Whenever I read stories like these or people talk of ghosts my eyes water like I'm crying.
  5. I'm Scottish and I think all of that looks brilliant. It makes my newly done bathroom look pretty dull now actually.
  6. Shouldn't this thread be shut down or locked by now? It's getting a little out of hand and doing nobody any good. Lets all stop bickering and concentrate on what brought us all here in the first place. Threads like this would be the reason I'd stop posting. Not that I post all that much...
  7. I'm not in arb so I don't have many reasons to post but I like reading and learning from other people's posts. I normally check the forums using tapatalk on the way home from work.
  8. To finally feel happy and content.

    Red wine

All wine tastes like vinegar to me. My girlfriend keeps making me try new ones claiming "this one is different! " but nope, vinegar again. I'll stick to beer.
  10. I got loads of them too. It took us a while to figure out where they all came from. I used to leave them alone but one of them declared war on me last year.
  11. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know. I got all of my latest wood from a cleared building site, they dragged all the trees down with a digger! All I know is that it splits very easily and is really white wood. Can anyone recommend a book or some other way to learn about trees?
  12. Windy in perthshire, if my newly fixed fence blows down again I'm going go be upset. 95mph winds!
  13. I have T11YRE as I own a tyre garage. It's on a yamaha R1 at the moment but ill stick it on a van or something at some point. Personalised plates do nothing for me but that one was too cheap to pass up.
