  1. Good news on a Monday! the shed and yard we rent, came up for sale and we have agreed a deal to buy it, we,ve got the cash so it,s just down to the paperwork, then we can alter shed to suit our needs better, plus it,s only 250yards from my smallholding:thumbup:

  3. i burn that sort of stuff, that i get from an old pitheap on my land, collect it all year and burn it in the winter. So burn it is the answer.
  4. You are just showing off because your brakes work!
  5. The sun was shinning so thought i'd do a bit of work on my own land, been thinning the trees and leveling the ground so i can have a bit more grazing for my horses, and threw a track then it started raining! But got a fair bit done:thumbup:
  6. A restricted O license would cover me for what i do and don't need a CPC for restricted O licence and i have access to maintence facilitys (pit and brake rollers) so anything else needed? and i have the money in the bank that vosa say you must have to maintain your vehicle.
  7. what,s going on got orders for this coming week for 16 dumpy bags of logs and a 100 tons of softwood:thumbup: we,ve been quite busy since easter but things are really starting to pick up now.
  8. used to do a bit of horse logging with Little Dave my Shetland pony he was excellent at it and he enjoyed it.
  9. it,s not really for moving timber, it,s just for moving my own machines about, also for picking stuff up that i have bought, so there would be no hire or reward.
  10. I'd say one is cheap and the other very reasonable.
  11. I,ve been thinking about getting rid of my Foden 6x6, since i got a 4x4 tractor and timber trailer i have just not been using the Foden, so i,ve been thinking about buying a Foden or Erf tractor unit and a lowloader trailer and registering as private hgv, so i can move my own stuff about, does any else run a truck as a private hgv, if so what are the pro's and con's? cheers mark.
  12. Hi we have 100ton of softwood stood roadside, near Durham City. If interested send me a pm.
  13. Here is our Zetor of about 70hp, pulls our timber trailer no problem, sometimes we are traveling 8 miles loaded up and down hill, we power a 10 inch chipper with it and winch with it, it handles all these tasks very well, good on fuel and parts are cheap and easy to get. I would buy Zetor again.
  14. it,s got Norway on the spec plate.
  15. That would be the one i,ve just bid on then!
  16. Still looking, would be able to start in a couple weeks time when this job finishes.
  17. Nice balance of work and family life there! Check out the tree house at Alnwick Castle, Holy Island or Seahouses are nice places to visit as well.
