  1. A mate of mine has a good Husky 281 for sale cheap, it,s a green ex,mod one, perfect for ringing up your oversized stuff on your log pile.
  2. bar groove worn and or chain drive links worn or chain badly sharpened.
  3. Well bought the Junkkari at a bargain price, got it home and gave it a proper go, stuck wood in the back and out the spout came chip, nice chip! need to sharpen the blades and adjust a few things and it,l be perfect for me.
  4. what happening with your international?
  5. I think the purpose built machines are just to big for our thinning work, with a 360 i would have the ability to use it as a digger as well, and it needs to fit on a drawbar trailer behind our truck.
  6. Yes Basils Bobcat looks about right for what i want.
  7. I was thinking Doosan somewhere in the 8 ton-13ton range and a Keto head.
  8. When i had a try of it it did the, bit of wood trapped between the rollers and the cutting disc thing, which was easely cleared. It,s a machine we would use perhaps once a month if that, so i guess we will just put up with the jamming thing for now, and with use i,l find out what causes it to jam, and avoid doing that and see if i can re engineer it so it does not jam. As ever the price was right.
  9. Do you run a 360 for harvesting, thinking of having a 360 converted for thinning work, what size and make of digger do you use? What head and who did the conversion and with hind sight would you change anything? plus what sort of tonnage a day do you manage? Cheers Mark.
  10. What,s the problem with them? Had a good look round it, build quality seems ok, put some wood through it and it chips! So are they just the wrong colour or are there major problems with these machines?
  11. JUNKKARI HJ260 G pto are they any good, it,s 2002 in good condition around how much should i pay for one?
  12. I thought white smoke meant a new Pope?
  13. try it with a bit of hand throttle when working with the crane and maybe a bottle of diesel magic .
  14. Yes i fix saws, i,m in the north east at Crook in County Durham, I just don,t push the fact and look for work here.
  15. MB Trac 1600 turbo - Harvesters - Forestry equipment - Mascus UK

  17. I think tractors are down to personal taste and how you adapt them for the job, we have a Zetor 6341 with underboy protection and a front loader with forklift tines which protects the cab from branches, it fits our needs perfect, also we use a David Brown 1412 2 wheeldrive it weighs 4.5 tons with water ballast in the tyres lots of ground clearance, very tight turning circle, and clutchless gear changes with the hydroshift and 90+ hp pump opened up. The DB 1412 is fantastic for pulling our forwarding trailer. Both these tractors fulfill our needs and did not break the bank. Any tractor can be a good tool for you.
