  1. I thought they looked a bit like MF and they have the Perkins in.
  2. Stick a 660 barrel and piston on the 064 and hey presto it,s a 066:thumbup:
  3. I,m thinking of buying a Landini tractor, it has a 4 cylinder Perkins turbo engine so parts are easy to obtain and there is a dealer only 25 miles away from me, it is just to use in the woods, are they ok or a nightmare?
  4. I,l give them a clean tomorrow and measure them to check for wear if they are not worn they will go back in, rebuid kits are available 450pounds.
  5. It,s just to smokey to run in the shed, so did a compression test and 300psi on number 1 and 200psi on 2,3,4 did a wet test and they all came up to 300psi so piston rings are badly worn on 2,3 and 4 so when it got to dark to work outside i decided to to strip down the engine in the shed, when i got the pistons out, it was a case of worn rings, so i,l stick rings in it, grind the valves in and i,l test the injectors and it,l be good for another 30 years.
  6. Found another one, on the same site plus lots of hung up trees! so i pushed it over, tree was about 15 inch Dia.:mad1:Second photo shows backcut:confused1:
  7. Had a walk round one of our work sites and found this, where 2 self employed cutters were working last week so this has been like this for at least 6 days! The Ash is about 10/12 inch also no Ash are to be felled on this job!
  8. It was a Wednesday afternoon last July, that's when we had summer in the North East:lol:
  9. Here is a photo of our worksite today, it,s not a river or a stream in fact it's a road!
  10. Cheers me up this photo compared to todays greyness.
  11. The crank from Germany works out about 130pounds plus a tenner postage so i need to spend 200pounds to get the 7901 sorted i guess it,s worth doing the saw is 2 years old.
  12. I,ve just bought a 115 or ps52 no chainbrake, there is no chainbrake handle, band and the lug that the chainbrake handle fixes to is snapped off and missing and it,s part of the crankcases! they were a little economical with the truth:thumbdown:
  13. Here is a link to a Dolmar spares Place in Germany Dolmar Stützpunkt 24 - Benzinmotorsägen seem to have most of the stuff you would need.
  14. and i need a crankshaft for dcs7901, after i bought a saw that just needed a piston! expected to have to fit a barrel and piston but not a CRANKSHAFT! seller not interested in refunding any money. Some folks have no morals. So are there any aftermarket cranks available or is it a genuine Makita/Dolmar item only?
  15. Like the plates from the headboard to the front bolsters, might just make some for my trailer.
  16. So are you going to run our chip wood up to your place on it?
  17. Hi does anyone know if aftermarket cranks are available for Makita 7901?
  18. I only want to know the size and weight, as the guy who has the forwarder might be doing some forwarding for us, when he gets it out and fixed and i wanted to know if it will fit on my agri plant trailer to move it between sites for him.
  19. TCD, any ideas what the top end rpm is of a PS 52 can,t find it on Mister Google!
  20. Seen a few hand cutters, as Stephen Blair says can use a saw and cut down a tree, that will never make money hand cutting in the woods .
