  3. Spot on, it is Allan Banks about 200 yards upstream of the bridge, sorted the wind blown trees out that were over the footpath and cutting up the big trees in the river that would of damaged the bridge if they got swept down stream.

After 3 days of undoing various nuts, bolts and allan studs, most of which had been welded to stop them coming loose, so involved grinding all the welds off all the fasterners, the front bogie, axle and transmission are ready to be removed tomorrow when the front end of the forwarder is jacked up.View from under the front of cab:thumbup:
  8. I,ve rebuilt the engine on this David Brown 1412 and it runs so well that i thought i,d tighten the steering up with new axle pivot bushes and a trackrod end.
  9. Yes there are lots of unsuitable people that think they are good at forestry, as an employer you do get fed up of the Idiots that don't even have a tape measure!
  10. Kids throwing rocks at it when it was stuck in a bog for 6 months. It will be getting all new glass in it.
  11. If we didn't need gearbox and clutch parts for the forwarder the tractor would be getting fixed.
  12. A few more photos,photo 1, got the 4 speed box and bellhousing out, photo 2 the box behind it has the forward and reverse and hi/low, this is where the problem is, the reverse gears are knackered in photo 2 you can see the damage to the teeth,
  13. Clutch problems and no reverse gear so it,s engine out, box will be coming out today, Gearbox are International 574tractor and we just happen to have a scrap 574 with a good gearbox.
  14. My Leyland does that when the backend is low on oil, no dipstick on mine.
  15. We are looking for timber hauliers for work, from County Durham to Yorkshire, Lancashire,Cumbria. At the moment it,s about 2 loads a week, increasing as the ground drys and we can forward more to roadside, payment is normally cash on delivery, so no waiting for payment, we have 100 tonnes waiting for Transport from Willington DL15 to near Bridlington.
  16. Alder sells well here at 45 pounds a tonne, 1 tonne makes 4 dumpy bags of firewood, so plenty of profit to be made when converted to firewood.
  17. Thinking about buying a new Herbst 16 ton 24 foot low loader, anyone bought one, what was the best price? and are they good quality? cheers Mark.
