  1. Took the top end off last night and the piston skirt on the exhaust side was worn away to a knife edge, no wonder it had a terrible rattle.
  2. I,l take some photo's this evening when i strip it down.
  3. Just bought a stihl 044 kat that needs a piston and my question today is when i fit a new piston should i keep the kat or replace with a normal exhaust? Anyone use one with a kat ?
  4. I think it is so there is less chance of knocking the slew pots off if you drop a tree wrong, yes the crane tilts for working on slopes.
  5. Sickener is in 3 weeks time getting a full alarm and surveillance system fitted indoors and outdoors and covering the road outside, linked to my mobile! They never searched or touched anything other than the saws they took! so atleast didn't need to tidy up after them!

They prised a corner of the steel sheets open, that the shed is built of and took a stihl 181, stihl 038 farm boss, husqvarna 154, dolmar ps52, dolmar 110 and a partner 650 MKII disc saw with the name simpson painted on the airfilter, i,m really pleased that i keep all the goodstuff at home. Anyone else had a traveling fair leave just after their place has been done? Where are all these saws going? Export in a container maybe???
  7. Been using my spare time clearing trees and digging stumps out, to make an acre and a half paddock, for some extra grazing for my horses.

It's a 678 the photos dont do it justice, it,s all standed and in really good working order, it'l be out working in 2 weeks time in hardwood thinnings, it comes with approx three tons of spares and 4 spare wheels and good tyres. It's one of those deals you can't refuse. I don't know what a Keto 100 is worth, just looked at the spec on them and it needs 190l/min to work it.
  13. It's going to work! It's a complete working machine other than the aircon needs regassing, it,s been stood a good while, needs a blast off and some paint.
  14. It started life as a forwarder and was converted to harvester, so we have a Bruunett forwarder and harvester now.
  15. Zetor , strong reliable and simple.
  16. We are getting 2x 100kw roundwood biomass boilers installed this month, on the RHI scheme and we are going to use the heat produced to help dry our logs using industrial blow heaters powered by hot water from the boilers, hopefully it will make enough airflow to dry the logs and stop the mould forming. Has anybody fitted a similar system or any helpful ideas?
