  1. Turned the pump and turbo up on my 200tdi 4 years a go, made it nice to drive and tows much better, had no problems. Only took 15 mins to do as well, plenty of stuff on interweb to show you how to do it.
  2. Still undecided, shall i turn this 678f back to a forwarder or buy a hydraulic pump and use it as a harvester again.Would swap the keto 51ld head for a stroke delimber or a good forwarding trailer with crane. Do i need another forwarder?
  3. I have white finger in both hands and fibro myalgia, and heated handles are a god send for me in winter.
  4. Hi thanks for all the input, from your comments it would seem that they are all good machines and it's down to personal preference, i'm leaning towards the Posch as we already have a firewood processor made by them and it has been faultless in the 4 years we have run it and really good build quality. It's a couple of weeks till i spend the money so things may change depending on deals offered. cheers Mark.
  5. Hi i know it,s a big ask, just got an order for a hundred dumpys of kiln dried Ash, and we haven't got enough timber in the yard and it,ll be a couple of weeks before i can get the rest of the ash out of the woods to complete the order, so a truck load or even half a load would help, i,m based in the Northeast. Cheers Mark.
  6. I,m going to be buying a new kindling machine in the next couple of weeks, I,m thinking of buy a Posch machine as the Posch processor we have has been faultless over the last 4 years, so lets hear the pro's and con's of any of the kindling machines available. cheers Mark.
  7. Oil leak ! I,ve got an oil leak on the cranab crane on my 578 Bruunett, it,s coming out of a breather on the crane /just above the slew, is it the slew pot seals leaking in to the king post?
  8. we get £35 a ton for mixed softwood chipwood, but we are going to start turning a lot of the softwood chipwood into kiln dried firewood, other wise it,s not worth cutting chipwood.
  9. Cost of cord a ton, £10 as standing timber, £15 for cutters, £5 to extract. Sell at £45 a ton leaves £15 ton to cover the cost of renewing machines and vehicles, oil filters, breakdowns, premises, insurances, wages and lost work days because of weather. So i see cord wood as under priced and you are selling your hardwood firewood to cheap!
  10. I,m guessing he needs to hold the chainbrake off, and he,s wearing chav jeans and trainers!
  11. Front difflock is easy, takes an hour to sort, remove rear floor panel in the cab and weld flat bar on to the end of the difflock spindle and cut slot in floor panel for flat bar to stick through and operate with your foot. Went to see this yesterday???
  12. Rovers90, Derek is that your measure stick leaning on the tractor?
  13. Chris S, 578 Bruunetts are very basic and reliable, good on fuel we use 20/30 litres a day, much more stable than a tractor trailer combo and dam good fun to drive.
  14. KETO 51LD TIMBER HARVESTING HEAD | eBayThere is a Keto 51 LD for sale on ebay at the moment.
  15. Hi TCD, had the same problem with the O rings on the roof of my 578, i leave the seat facing rearwards all the time and not had a problem with them since, going to do away with those push in connectors and O rings when i have time.I,m going to convert the 678 harvestor i,ve got, back to a forwarder i know where there is a set of timber bunks local to me and i think i,l put the Keto 51 ld head up for sale and bolt the crane back on the roof and already got a spare grab to go on it. Brushcutter, yes a couple of those logs want a couple of foot trimming off, to 16 foot. County 764, They have either, the 578 has leavers and spools under the seat, 678 has joysticks and is a much more modern machine. You can see in the photos the 678 looks more modern and has about 6 inch more ground clearance and a turbo.
  16. Yes one end at a time on the 3 big ones, I think in the owners manual it says don't use tracks only chains.
  17. 400,000 miles from our old sprinter, before it did it,s head gasget.
