  1. Are you removing the guards prior to felling or trying to save? If the latter are they really worth it? Some are enclosing around the steel so it will eventually become a failure point in the future. IMO fell replant with something better than sycamore. Compression would be the main worry from cutting them free.
  2. Well i pay around £7 for 5L of unleaded. £12 for aspen 5L (bought in bulk) no inconsistency in mixing and prologed saw life (much, much less carbon deposited on the piston) probably works out better in the long run?
  3. Aspen 2T alkylate petrol - Aspen alkylate petrol - Environmental fuels - Motor racing fuel & racing oil from Anglo American Oils UK: Suppliers of high performance motor sports fuels - oils & Lubricants. Was just checking the price myself although im sure i got it cheaper? Around £12 from my supplier.
  4. Just a quick question as i haven't got over to my Aspen dealer this week, what size of 2t do you do? What sizes are there after 5L as a 200L drum is far too big for me to contemplate storing as it will be a prolonged fire hazard as such.

    Thanks, Ian

  5. Sometimes you need to turn the low jet up by about an 1/8th of a turn. I only had to do it on my 357.
  6. Can they not get them valued and see what the insurance cost would be to underpinning the house Vs the trees values?
  7. Yeah that makes sense.
  8. The oak was for barnes brinkcraft in wroxham they were going to take it away on a barge? for some reason. Although there is perfectly good road access:confused1:. Yeah metal sucks although it was quite nice to know exactly where it was for once.
  9. I was thinking more of using the dozer blade during rush hour..... Although all girls really want a ride in a tractor:laugh1:
  10. A couple from today a dead oak a drop and log job and a few eucalyptus fells which still had the metal stakes in and had been included at the base.
  11. No more attempting to hit the high forks with a throw line! Clip on and away we go! Maybe with a little modification it could hold a silky?
  12. I like it! Also really want one, don't know what i'd use it for but would look good cursing through town maybe???
  13. Anyone know of a link to the current helliwell prices for trees? I've got the costs from 2009 single was £26.00 Woodlands £104.00 But cannot find as i foolishly did not make a not of the site i got them from:blushing:
  14. Ah, got ya. Thought id ask as i was curious on how you did it/ if there was any different ways. Cheers for the reply.
  15. ok, so who stocks them?
  16. Look very nice, really like the characteristic look the cedar table has.
  17. This guy did this video as a promo for himself and as a result he now works for jackie chans stunt team.
  18. Love watching vertical speedlining:thumbup1:. I watched ace trees one recently and was wondering if you needed to use the more expensive lowering block compaired to a simple fig 8 or could you tie some knots instead? Nice video, feel sorry for all the sharpening that must of come on to cut up that last bit of stem:thumbdown:
  19. After ordering it ages ago?
  20. Used 3 vermeers in my time 1 small 5inch machine which kept pumping out hydralic fluid from the filler cap even with the correct levels. 2 large road tows 1.250kgs can't remember the model but not a small one. Auto feed buttons kept breaking, pto clutch faulty. IMO from these 3 i would never use one again. Im sure there are many that work fine and i just got the 3 bad ones:sneaky2:
  21. Wow thats some fast, fast times!! Nickys time will take some beating. Well done guys see you at the yorkshire.
  22. Very nice work sir.
  23. Some people!!! Well I've just spent half of my day off retrieving stolen firewood. I'll paint the picture, working in a mental hospital with large open parkland. Been felling dead cherry trees on Thursday and all the timber was stacked to be extracted tomorrow. Well i get a call this morning from one of the guys up there saying my pile of wood looks quite light!! So i take a trip up to the site and well 2 truck loads light! A little looking around and we find a house gate the backs onto the site and all the missing wood. Walk up to the back door which is open and knock....No reply...knock again, no reply so we take all the timber back and off site. Now maybe if it was a public wood/park I'd understand that they weren't sure if it was left or to be taken. But private land now that's taking the biscuit. I guess it could of been worse and i hadn't been able to retrieve the wood but it annoys me that the think its worthless.
