  1. Axel's (the aspen guy) is your man to ask as i deal with my local aspen dealer who give me a really good price so i don't deal direct. Also i haven't asked what the cost is for a 200l.
  2. Blimey Mr Blair, That is quality! No need for a trailer too, i like it.
  3. Oh and its wonderful when milling.
  4. Big drums i think are the way but 200L is a heck of a lot of fuel for me so until they bring out something smaller then im stuck to 5L cans:thumbdown:
  5. Now i would normally just respond in a thread but feel Aspen has taken a bit of an unfair bashing recently. I've been running Aspen for 2 1/2 weeks solid now and can say i will be switching and sticking with all my saws bar my old 200t over. Hedge cutting OMG it becomes almost and enjoyable activity!! No more high concentrations of monoxide and sulfur fumes. The 200t was not recommended to be switched as it is 8 years old and they can become temperamental. My 357xp which is 6 years old only needed the low jet turned up a bit and the same with my 088. 395 runs smooth so no fiddling there. I must say that this is one of the best trials i have ever done with the saws, although after the 1st week i was optimistic of the energy boost that josh mentioned. But this week i have noticeably felt better for it i haven't once had a sore throat from being in close proximity to the saws when i was working in a confined courtyard. Yes all in it costs a couple of quid more but the way i see it with people and ppe. Yes you could have some hiax blue ridge which would do the job fine but how many people will buy the meindl airstreams? costs more!! So the way i see it is i feel better for it, the environment is better for it (than fuel mix). Now all we need is for Aspen to produce 50 and 100L drums:001_rolleyes:
  6. hi-what?
  7. I really want a lucas mill
  8. I agree that qualifications are required to move away from the 'tools' side of things but i have came across no less than 4 assistant tree officers in norwich over 5 years which might have the paper but have no clue, rubbish spec, wrong street, wrong species etc. They had one who left to work for private firm was doing his tech cert at the time, Mr bundock, great specs, correct species etc. He had about 4 years on the 'tools' before he moved to the office role. So that note experience. Another thing how many home owners really care if their tree is topped and lopped with massive rips down the stem? 15% id say care imo as i've been asked many a time to quote against someone who recommended topping and a bit off the side!! I say thats not the right thing to do, give a quote for a full reduction drive past a few months later top it and lop it have been and done it. So qualifications are required here?? Hmm should be. Workers i will hire guys in for a days work and i've seen that the ones with experience and less qulifications muck in as much as the new guys so i don't think qualifications or experience matter here. Im going to sit my nptc in safe pointing at people from height next week.
  9. Sounds like a great sales pitch getting paid twice!!!!!
  10. The one time i didn't use screens i put a flint through a double glazed window. And it was a favor for a mate. which was somewhat costly, so screens all the time for me:thumbup1:
  11. Im building up a mosaic with all of them:laugh1:
  12. You drew me in with all this talk of conny bashing and all i get to see is a few twigs near a manhole:001_tt2:
  13. You must be talking about the types that call a poplar a paulownia then? And give deadwoods on 90% dead trees. Spent many a time driving to street and parkland trees with wrong specs too.
  14. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUW6R2sDHoY]YouTube - Criss Angel through the wood chipper revealed![/ame] revealed!!!!!
  15. Oh that rattle wedge looks shiny!!!!!!! and obviously very usefull.
  16. The tech cert does have requirments for a having level 2 in arb/forestry 1st. Also the other criteria is that you have to have been in the industry for 2 years. BUT when i did the tech there was a guy who had some conservation experiance and a level 2 in car mechanics!!! and within 3 years is now an assistant tree officer. Wait with the tech cert as the course structure isn't changing that much as its just being upped to a level 4 with the new government Vocational Qualifications structure.
  17. Fantastic:thumbup: this will take me some time to look through.
  18. Hi Axel, Yeah 50L drums would be a fine idea. I guess being in drum format you would get round the transportation issues?

I guess the problem is as im a small company i wouldn't want more than 50L sitting around at anyone time and a drum would be good as that only takes up one space unlike multiple 5L cans which are hard to stack.

  19. Yep also the t-shirts are ok too.
  20. Nice i use them for my van it only costs another £2 if you have your own logo. P.s you wouldn't believe how many cards have that tree on.
  21. Hi Axel,

I was thinking 25L as its a storage issue 2 X 25Ltrs would be much easier to store than 10 X 5L as i think 200ltr is too much for me to want to store in one sitting as such. What is the legal problem with the 25l containers? as it would be nice to get them in.

  22. Looks like sooty mould, get some water and see if you can rub it off.
  23. Much appreciated.
  24. The i phone does pretty much most things this does and allows you to make calls. When i saw this advertised i thought of the large phone scene from 'trigger happy tv'
