Don't tell him hes set a record terry. His dad will go on and on and on about till the end of time itself:laugh1:. He did make me laugh about that i cooked up welsh burgers in the morning and he said it must have been something in the meat. Just posted the GYS app but still struggling to get hold of mr mills:thumbdown:

ok my times were in fastest last. 20.47 - heat 1 sunday 20.36 - heat 1 friday 20.35 - heat 2 friday 20.06 - final saturday (finished 3rd) 19.25 - heat 2 sunday 18.65 - final sunday (finished 2nd) 18.64 - final friday (finished 5th) 17.84 - heat 1 saturday 17.67 - heat 2 saturday (personal best)

17.67 PB on 80ft sure with a bit of practise i can get that down to 17.66.

Thats still 8 seconds off the world record and 6 second of most the experts.

You can do that if you want but you tend to throw the flipline higher as the pole gets thinner so to speak, but it does feel weird as your leaning back a fair bit too when you get near the top.

He did one in 14 seconds but mainly 16-17 secs, he seemed to have a 6th gear so was hard for most of us (novices) to keep up. We will see if he can keep the pace up on the 100ft poles at the royal welsh.

It was nice to meet a lot of new people at woodfest and i cannot wait till the next comp im available for (royal welsh) but may try to wriggle things to get to the highland show. I'll post links to the pics later and hopefully will have the head cam footage done by tonight. Cheers to everyone that i met, top bunch of guys:thumbup:

Well storage is as important as milling, Get some ratchet straps 2 or more. Once hes stacked them ratchet them over the spacers really tight to stop warping as i've came a croper with this a few times:thumbdown:. Rob posted some outdoor treatment on 27" milled oak, cant think of what its called off the top of my head:confused1:. Sanding is also very important!! finish is everything IMO. Likewise discussed on here. -

Yeah a mimosa tree, is the redness at the bottom from mower damage? Not very good in cold winters, maybe just wait and see what it does. Nothing worse than water/feeding/mulching and it still dies = one unhappy client.
