  1. This is on a oak which is heading into decline from years of root damage compaction, I'm getting ready to 'hammer' the crown to send it into veteran state and hopefully it will cause regeneration of a new crown to come.
  2. Cheers, I've got a sycamore to come down soon, nothing big but has to be rigged out because it has a old clay pipe sewer underneath the grass where i could drop it all. So I'm playing with this one and hopefully should get the next one done well. I used to use videopad when i had a pc. Which is an amazing and simple program and only cost around £20 online. I tried using Sonys thing but its too complicated for no reason. But now I'm using on my iMac Final Cut Pro 10 Motion 5 and because Hd movies are so big I'm compressing them with Compressor 4 Im spending a lot of time learning how to do all the different edit features but as you can see I'm a long way off getting to grips with it.
  3. GoPro HDhero:thumbup1: Not as good as my HDhero2 tho.
  4. I was trying to get the wood hitting the ground at the same time but my patience ran out:blushing:
  5. I quickly dropped the tops off these sycamores rather than felling them out of the wood. Basically all material had to be stacked in the wood so for a few extra minutes work this made sense. In less time i threw this together trying some new edit techniques, as you can see a bit rough but I'm learning how to match to a beat.... Thanks for watching and please don't be too harsh on my cuts most were terrible:thumb up: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBsvYoPK410]Dropping sycamores - The futureheads Heartbeat - YouTube[/ame]
  6. Ok 2012 dates are up. Woodfest I'm waiting for date confirmation and i will attach entry forms to events that i receive them from. Take the link Events 2012 | Poleclimb.com
  7. That dog and ball is mega!
  8. Nice smooth operation Mr Witt. Enjoyed watching that.
  9. Well done guys pass or fail. Its a hard course i still have cold sweats thinking of the management day and trees and the law paper. Those who failed don't sit back and think i'll pick it up nearer the time once a week have a quick scan through. You might not read everything but this will keep the important notes fresh in your head and much easier to remember when you re-take comes.
  10. Any tip i get goes to my freelancer as a bonus. I make my money on the job, their on a day rate so its a bonus for them.
  11. so, so Facebook pages and my google ad get hit hits which brings people to my web page. Youtube is also really big for sending stuff to my website too.
  12. Cheers Nigel, you know what its like when you look at investing in things. Reidy, good to hear they held up in the rain as that was my only real worry. Also i wanted some to stop the shouting and having to say things three times. How did they fare getting hold of someone whilst they were working with the chipper?
  13. Yep.
  14. Its called insert layered pages so you import your map via that then draw your map, save a copy then compress then you can add the rpas etc. Do not compress this information but save as a separate file. Basically it doesn't have proper layers like adobe but you can kind of work it so you have something to work around. Basically you end up with 2 maps but you can edit the detail from the 1st map i.e the one without the shading and stuff on. (Im sure theres an easier way but i've only done one very simple map on it)
  15. Im going to have a guess at Drift HD170 stealth.
  16. Yeah, i locked in different layers so i could show RPA's then CEZ & RPA's. I will be adding it to my office PC just a shame i can't switch it to my home Mac. Then again if i can't work from home then maybe i can have that time to actually relax:biggrin:
  17. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9c8FJ19yVE]The Penguin Dilemma - Translation - YouTube[/ame] p.s there is some swearing.
  18. The free demo.
  19. A massive Thank you to Matt, This program is unbelievable! So easy to use with the bonus of Pdf importing. Basically I get the site plans sent through by the land surveyor. All done in CAD to A3 with tree locations plotted. Before i had to take measurements and create my own at A4. Here's the best bit! I can take the A3 map use the measuring tool to create a scale to the exact scale on the map. Then draw my RPA's exactly. Try it, you Will Not be disappointed.
  20. I watch Taylor hamels videos:big grin: Also i buy what i need and research or have seen in use bits of kit that can make my life easier, safer and more productive.
  21. Never used it. Whats the mapping like for creating scales at A4? Or a nice picture would do.
  22. This is exactly why i've been thinking of 2 things. I as I have a C+E cat i might as well move up to a larger lorry but then you come into the CPD 35 hours thing (if your employed/subcontracted). Or just leave the UK and head somewhere warm or cold.
