  1. Hi, Im looking for more freelancers as Neil and James are getting quite booked up. So if you are interested please PM me on here with a contact number, day rate and experience. The jobs vary but are mainly east and North Norfolk. Im based in Salhouse so the area code is NR13 if you want to workout your travel time to my base. Regards, Ian
  2. Found this whilst on the net today, got the rope wrench it it too [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akZ527VoTsc]TREEGEAR TV | 65m Vic Mountain Ash Tree Removal - YouTube[/ame]
  3. I have a question. What kind of testing did you subject the system too? I mean field testing i.e weather conditions, life span, general grunt abuse. I think this system is really good and what i was looking for as its much easier to use a push talk that wait around up the tree waiting for a groundsman to look up. I think used daily it could save me a good few minutes in waiting time and shouting/calling politely.
  4. Every time you get into your truck you have to put the windscreen wipers on to clear the woodchip.
  5. I'd take some photos attach it to an e-mail but personally think its going to be hard for the council to enforce. I cannot see the council being able to erect barriers in someones front lawn.
  6. Nice skills fella. Beautifully shot video and excellent music which gave a kind of woodly feel.
  7. Nice little job Simon. I always think god im glad its not a gleditsia after the 5 thorn rips into my hand.
  8. I find i always have my inspector Dendro pipe on the go when i rock this look.
  9. Blimey, glad you had your thinking cap on. I can imagine the size of the brash pile if it was left at the base. Nice set of pictures Reg. Shame you left the UK to whip up those tiny trees.
  10. I missed this! I was tooooooo busy watching the Jive Ponies:blushing:
  11. Yeah its mainly a filter lens so i can shoot in low light, bright light and in whatever filter colour i like. Thats my Drt aerial line mount that i made. I had to fit the swivel from my old lockjack to give stability. I haven't had the chance to blast around my work climb tree near my yard in a while but when i get the chance to i'll give it a proper run out.
  12. Here you go.
  13. It is how it is the promos are not enhanced. If i get 5 minutes i'll stick a picture up of my Gopro which you'll see isn't standard as it has interchangeable lens covers.
  14. Yep. although they all fail if you set the camera up towards the sky in winter. Not enough reflected light on stems so everything looks black.
  15. Its all down to personal preference when deciding which camera to use mine was based on them giving me one. Personally for tree work the hd hero is great, there is a slim chance i will buy the hero2 because the quality for me is great. Although i did take a trip to hunstanton on the weekend to have a ganders at the new one. If you filming stuff like kite surfing where theres a lot of refection glare than this is a better investment. As for the 11mp upgrade its not massively noticeable unless blased on a huge HDTV. So hence why i'll save a couple of quid and stick with the Gopro hd.
  16. If you were planning on buying a gopro then buy the new one, it should be the same price as the old gopro was. But if you want to save a few quid then buy the old one its still really good.
  17. Now if you thinking of buying a camera wait until the end of the week. The Gopro2 will be on the market, thus making the gopro cheaper and forcing the drifts to come down too.
  18. I guess if the client not happy you can put it back up. The saw dust heading towards the saw looked really cool.
  19. Yeah I've always loved making films and taking photos so its another way of bringing one of my hobbies into work. Finding new angles to capture the work is why I'm buying another. Go an offer off a guy who does aerial photography with and petrol helicopter who wants to capture some footage of me banging off a stem section. The only problem is he's in Dublin so might let my mate out there have the fun, plus i don't fancy being close to the helicopter blades.
  20. Ben, just to show the full power of the gopro heres the 2011 highlights all edited on a iMac with final cut pro x best watched in youtube hd (if you have an hd computer screen if not 360 or 420) [ame] [/ame]
  21. The one i've just done at full hd is better than my other because I'm using studio quality editing software which helps too. But yeah my old drift x170 hasn't been out of the box since december i think. Just got another gopro too so thats me running 3 hd cameras.
  22. Around the £299 mark for the Helmet Hd hero. Obviously shopping around on e-bay and if you import it can be cheaper but it depends on how long you want to wait. I think and imported one you can get at around $260
  23. Contours a good camera got my hands on one whilst in Ireland. The best feature is it has a built in led laser to line up you sight line. The fish eye lens is a little bit less than the drift and gopro. I had it side mounted when having a go but didn't have a lot of time to take it for a good test as it wasn't mine.
  24. Fair play, thats some serious winching. I bet your guys are glad to see the back of that job.
  25. Cheers
