  1. Thats what i was saying but i think it got lost in translation.
  2. Now thats speculation as who knows what they did with the debris? Im sure that would take it over 5 minutes? If they did this until a tree surgeon arrived i would kind of been thinking why not wait and let the tree surgeon do it. He knows how he want the tree to come down. Just my observation. Im just pointing out that everyone seems to complain about gypsies not doing it right and gardeners having a go. Yet here i see something i would put in the same category yet people seem quick to almost praise them because there firemen. :confused1:
  3. Nope i call that a bunch of firemen not doing it right or safe. They should of assessed the situation and decided that someone with a sufficient skill set should make it safe quickly, efficiently and safely.
  4. I moved over to a i Mac this week so i've been using there Imovie software so thought id have a play around with bits and bobs. Its quite obvious which footage was shot with my Gopro HD and the Drift x170. The sofware will build the Hd bits at 1080p so they look very crisp and run the x170 in non hd so they look a little grainy. I think it shows why HD filming is better. 5. :congrats: Well put, we all have a skill the fire service is rescue and fire not tree surgery. Just because they are firemen doesn't mean they should be doing this they should assess the situation and decide that it was safer for them to get a professional service in. The police do it when a tree falls across a road.
  6. I felled a yew about 6 months ago and gave the wood to a woodturner in return for some bits he made from it. One wooden Yew bowl & pen + African Blackwood pen.
  7. Chainsaw high heels, there all the rage right now:lol:.
  8. A quick fell identified to be felled as part of the sites risk management, i would of liked to remove the crown and leave a monolith but they wanted it on the deck. So i did. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvRl_7FPr9E]Beech fell - YouTube[/ame]
  9. Make a video not speeded up. Made me feel dizzy watching that.
  10. Still is England - Arboriculture Contractor but the isa would defiantly benefit from an online membership list.
  11. So after quoting on a job and giving the client my PI/PL policy number, FCA membership number and ISA membership number to show im supporting recognized bodies within the industry. I got a call saying that they couldn't find any link of a members list and phoned me up almost accusing me of being false. After having to turn up at the clients door with the membership letter all was good in the end. Even though i couldn't find anyway of clarifying myself online. Now i know they could of used the 'Contact Us' part but most will give up or not bother. So could i ask the question why isn't their a members directory online for Joe public to view? Just curious to see if anyone else has had this problem?

  14. Don't forget to keep oiling the nose of the bar manually.
  15. Either are good i have both but the GoPro has more features but the HD170 is pretty good too. POV 1.5 non hd is one of the best and worth a look.
  16. I was just thinking that.

  18. 200t and the leaf blower.
  19. A quite knackered Beech fell from today. Only 50ish foot high so done by 2pm:thumbup1: Timber was going to be made into some benches and the rest was left for firewood.
  20. Nice video, music was nice and chilled too.
  21. Im still loving Zing-it 8 years on.
  22. Hi, Today i found out that a part of a thread off here was used to try and give me as a person bad press (not by an arbtalk member). Its funny how talking and discussing Loler and its pro's and con's can be attempted to be used against one. Im not bothered too much as the guys who work under this person have spoke to me and i told them to read the whole thread not just a single post of which it is a very good discussion. But just made me think how things that are said can be manipulated. Makes you think about what you should write in response to anything tho. Anyway always re-read before you post as what might be going on in your head may not come across as it does in a post. If any moderator wants to delete this thread please feel free to. I was interested to see if anyone else has had this kind of thing happen???
  23. Read step 48 China to Taiwan - Google Maps
  24. A very hot Yorkshire show. Many slips throughout the week causing some close results and about 3 spike breaks and broken rams. In the end Richard Batson who has been so unlucky not to win this season came through in the end and deservedly too. Prince Charles and Camilla watched for a bit too. Results Expert (Showing 1-10) 1st Richard Batson 9.57 2nd Grant Gallier 9.66 3rd Roy Rudd 10.22 4th Patrick Hayes 10.34 5th Terry Bennett 10.65 6th Alex Callard 11.36 7th Gage Owens 12.58 8th Ian Flatters 12.64 9th Pete Gallop 13.80 10th Fiona Crozier 15.09 (Arbtalks Littletree) Novice Class (Showing 1-5) 1st Seb Lacey 15.95 2nd Jack Barnard 18.19 3rd Craig Tummelty 18.45 4th Arron Peacock 18.68 5th Tom Oliver 19.23 A big thanks to East Durham College for providing their experienced belay crew on pole 2
