  2. Just sent it on to 157 people so you might get someone turn up. Just a couple of questions then: How are the poles placed into the ground and at what depth? How high? How wide? How is a safety line rigged? How many are running the belay?
  3. I even changed the leg pads which made me quicker too:biggrin:
  4. Run on the KISS system - Keep It Simple Stupid. Too much info can bombard people or make it not stand out. Who you are Contact details inc address and website All aspects of tree work etc. Insured, qualified maybe nptc/lantra logo. Colour scheme and logo is as important as what it says too.
  5. OMG thats awesome!!!
  6. When i used to do/go to interviews a portfolio with yourself in it is good. Although i have had in the past people show me these awesome after works pics for them to be not as skilled as the pic shows. Covering letter is also a good little touch and carrying your certificates with you there and then. Its better to be over prepared and get the job than under and not. Also talk but don't ramble or go off course too much. CV's work list chronological and a long list of reference's if available. Time span on ability to start for them is also handy. Hope this helps and good luck.
  7. Cheers guys. Im still around 2.5 seconds off the top 4 climbers but slowly getting quicker. I'll post the world record run up once i've loaded it off the GoPro.
  8. Yep and clicked the pre order.
  9. Its really hot here. I was stuck in edinburgh airport nice and air conditioned for 15hrs because the plane engine broke during taxi and the next palne had a pressure valve problem. When i got to Norwich (30 degrees acording to my thremom) i thought flybe had took us to ibiza as compensation......sadly not tho.

  12. they will charge off a usb port, wall charger and a universal camera in car charger. From flat about 1.5 hrs
  13. An even better answer for you i've just finished filming some stuff at the Highland show i was there for 6 days and filmed bits and bobs and still have 1 bar battery on it using the dual battery pack. It was switched on every day and i flicked between dual and lcd to watch back the stuff quickly on.
  14. As it says video footage to be submitted and verified by guinness of which i'll pop up later. current record stands at 9.61 So Grant Gallier set a new world record on friday 24th in a time of 9.59 seconds and the smashed it with a 9.55 on sunday 26th. Also Carys Wynn Green set a 14.07 on Saturday 25th.
  15. GoPro Battery BacPac - Extend Battery Life & Easy Recharge
  16. I can film the whole day without a change but then again i have the dual battery thingy. Even without and after a bit of time using them you kind of know what to film and whats a waste. but as it says off the box 2.5hrs normal 5hrs with the battery pac its the main problem with compact cameras tho... oh and time lapse 8hrs.
  17. Drift 170HD or Gopro hd hero are the best two really. I prefer the gopro because it has so many different mounts and they can be strapped onto different hard hats. Of which your best hat is a vertex vent as you can strap through the vents and the curve on the hat is good. I will say the gopro is much better in the wet as the 170hd and x170 as they are not 100% waterproof for over 10 minutes submegered but will survive most rain storms outside. (as i was told by drift inovations) Now just to throw another two in the bag, pov 1.5 is good for around the same price and is what testcricket01 uses and if you've got lots of money buy the pov 1.5hd. As it gets said GoPro or GoHome i might be a bit biest tho.

  20. You were there and didn't come say hi or were you still in awe of the jazz pony display team....(i was) Well let me explain there was this woodpecker right and he attacked me:001_tongue: Or using bike cleats no matter how hard you wind them up they can still release. I had to thread through some long bolts in the end to stop the ability to release.
  21. No2 that one:blushing: Well done to you for finishing 3rd in the Tree Surgeon Class. :congrats: I thought well im only halfway so might as well keep going. That and that being heat 2 if i got a dnf would of meant i wouldn't of been able to score in the final.
  22. Well i kind of forgot to secure the cleat with secondary bolts and this is what happened.... Enjoy:thumbup: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3yBhQaGepw]YouTube - ‪80ft Pole climb spike failure‬‏[/ame]
  23. So i spent 3 days at Malvern competing and on the final day the Husqvarna European Pole Climbing championship was held. The weather for most was ok, only 1 final run was delayed due to a rather heavy down poor but in general the wind was the only real thing that the climbers had to deal with. Very very fast times were set throughout the competition and it only being 100th of seconds between some places. The Tree Surgeon Class was very close! Alex was trail blazing his way at the top and had the rest of the field in pursuit:thumbup1: The Expert class was even closer between matt, richard, grant and patch all withing 100th's of a second of each other at some point. The rest of the field wasn't far behind and all down the list 100th's of a second seperating other placings. Many Personal bests set throughout the competion in both classes and it was good for some of the arbtalkers on here to put a face to the name. We also ran a little showground comp which involved West merca police, Army, Showground staff and the RAF. Well those fly boys stepped up and won closely followed by the police. Sorry the spelling is poor as im busy packing to compete in the highland show this week. Results will follow. Also a big thanks to East Durham College arb lads who provided the belay crews and pulled around 4-5 miles of rope through their hands over 3 days.
  24. Nice one Fi, Great PB in the finals. I'll have all the breakdowns of runs today but might not get them up for a week as im at the highland. No going for my new world record tho.:001_rolleyes:
  25. Oh yes, Entered into the Threes and the Europeans on the final day:thumbup1:
