  1. Wow thats high, beautiful view too.
  2. Videopad i used to just import straight from the GoPro. http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.html I think i paid for mine in the end, but is a very good and simple to use program.
  3. Well done fella, you lucky bugger.
  4. Hi guys, when i limb walk on rads i clip the running end through my lanyard crab to keep the tail close there prob is a much easier way but I'm still learning. Limbwalking is smooth just like in DRT, the resistance only really happens when i pull on the line heading back in, other than that its pretty much the same. Mistahben- no not really i couldn't see the point as placing the strop over your shoulder works remarkably well and keeps your body posture upright. Oldmills - NRG Kermantle SRT line i think and its 55m long. Like is said I'm new to set but really enjoying the learning curve and experience of it.
  5. Hi Kevin, i haven't yet placed my SJ on the wrench system but the LJ is very smooth and seems to work much in the same way it would in DRT because of how the RW is attached above it. Very smooth.
  6. Hi Carlos, i find its better with everything close, The hand ascender plays no attachment other than to the foot loop so its just on the line by itself.
  7. finding myself with a free hour this afternoon i decided to get some pictures so people can see my setup. 1&2) Petzl hand ascender with foot loop, RW, LJ, connected via a cut away, Petzl pantin. 3) I feed my strop up my back and over my shoulder to help advance the RW. Not shown in pictures one and two because i didn't want to block anything out of view 4) When i limb walk i lock off the ascender, clip in a DMM Revolver (which is much better than my pulley setup, Thanks Deer Man) and create a RAD system for coming back in. Its fast and easy. 5) Pretty much the same except i use a Multisling with a DMM Revolver (note the Revolver has to be threaded through the spliced eyes as it wont fit correctly into the metal ring). Any eye to eye cord would be fine too.
  8. I always send terms out with my quotes rather than invoices, so there is no grey area for them to say, oh i thought. I have three sets of terms one for Commercial, one for domestic (both arb) and a third for reports. I make clear that 10% of the total bill is added if you exceed the agreed date and have only ever had to threat to do this once.
  9. Deer man, thats a good point and i have 2 DMM Revolvers in my kit shelf in the workshop.
  10. P.S i haven't invented it, I'm just curious about others using it.
  11. Awesome picture. Arb is classed as a dinosaur climbing system by a lot of rope access industries, hence why I'm broadening my Rope access horizons. But for us RW is a good bit of simple kit, I'm sure you can see that? Although I'm only a newbie at SRT and would be very keen to know other systems used with pros or cons and what works? Ian
  12. Yeah, I'm really embracing the SRT climbing system (RW). It felt really weird having just one rope that didn't move as such (line payout). But i feel i move throughout the crown with more ease if you know what i mean and with a different mindset/approach. I've been looking into canopy access courses to broaden my knowledge of SRT too.
  13. Nice shot!
  14. The other thing i love about the frog walker setup is the ascender and foot loop can sit on the line with no connection to your system so if you choose you can leave it at the top of the tree and recover it at the end when you take the lines out. Also an ascender with a crab and pulley clipped in when you start your climb out on a limb converts it into a RAD system which makes coming in very easy. Well it was using the HC WR setup and I'm sure it will be the same with the LJ WR setup.
  15. I'll be there, Ill bring my spiderjack, lockjack, Rope wrench for people to have a go on.
  16. this one is quite good and how i personally prefer to ascend the tree. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XD6rGpAY8Y]Frog walking with a wrench - YouTube[/ame]
  17. I was thinking of larks footing the cord through where the crab is. Although i wouldn't like a not for climbing crab in there because if that failed the LJ wouldn't work.
  18. So i had a quick play using the lockjack, seems to work ok but really relies on the wrench biting in. I haven't had a long/challenging limb walk as im seeing how it work so safety is always first. I think the tether needed to be shortened up for use with the lockjack tho.
  19. Guy's how are you all setting up re-directs? By which i mean are you using retrievable ones or just clipping in, working that side, back up to retrieve it then onto the other side? Just popped into my head and i can work out a single retrievable re-direct but was wondering what you were all doing?
  20. Im sure windows movie maker will work but if not i used to use video pad as its really easy. I use final cut pro 10 now as I'm on a Mac.

  21. Hi Mat, I find filming at true HD you get a better quality of film even watched non HD. I mainly use the HD because i use it as marketing, so i use the highest affordable range of cameras. I've seen some 960 footage online and it still seems to have pretty good clarity so i guess its a good buy although the hero1 has come down in price quite a bit in the recent months.

  22. SJ - Awesome RW - Great but still new to SRT LJ - Hate it after using a SJ for a bit HC with VT - Still nice but prefer my SJ
  23. i have 2,000,000 but thats only because a couple of clients dictate it. Your right in your understanding of it, personally 500,000 - 1,000,000 will cover you even on large development site.
  24. Lmao, so if i turn the radio up and don't hear anything................
  25. Not one i can turn a 40T Class2 into,
