  1. Hi Dave, Yeah thats why were testing them to see if they hold up and are able to work the line and the bend angle it creates in the LJ vs angle of bend.
  2. So im just in from the Norfolk Arbtalk Reccy climb and we had 2 RW working and had some good findings. 1) Rad can be annoying with the LJ combo 2) Ascending use a pantin and place one hand above the RW and the other on the RW to advance it = No bunching up. 3) LJ holds even on a single line without the wrench (i will put pictures up later) 4) Weve got some footage 5) I can bomb out of the tree as quick if not quicker than my SJ DRT 6) You can still easily decend if the line below you is tight and at and angle. 7) We put the line through some serious angles that would result in DRT being stuck 8) I'll make the video up as we used both the GoPro's
  3. Hi Craig i never clip to my hand ascender, just strop over my shoulder and into the wrench.
  4. The Humbolt cut james.
  5. Yeah its just the right height to accidentally film over the fence those lasses sunbathing topless.......
  6. Nout but it was a free gift from my local arb shop. Works really well and being fixed and not starter cord the crab pops straight through quickly.
  7. Hey Reg, Huge arbutus, but more importantly an impressive display with the Rope Wrench. I have found using temporary anchors invaluable now, more so than a quick re-direct. You wouldn't get this problem of sound a blur with the Gopro2:lol:
  8. I've dumped green full of leaf conifer there a few times.
  9. Thats right near the biomass burner (15min round trip). What kind of chip quality will it be? I know this sounds random but he can only use i'e the stuff a sharp timberwolf kicks out not large pto chips. But if its the small stuff PM me and i'll send on his details to you.
  10. What side of norwich? Nearer to Acle way there is a guy who has a biomass burner that might take it.
  11. Hi Craig, Are you clipping anything into the RW to pull it up the line? I have just switched my tether for a Dmm thimble thingy and now clip into that. I will be changing my system over to a knot on the weekend for a reccy climb as there will already be a RW LJ setup so i'll see what i find.
  12. only the appearance of the RW, there is no cross loading on the RW at all as it pulls/applies pressure along the same plain as it would with the HC setup just its to the left rather than right in front of you.
  13. Yeah it twists to the left but doesn't seen to affect anything in its movement or working with it.
  14. No idea, just was on offer:biggrin:
  15. Hey,

Cheers for the pin arrived 1st thing this morning and has already been out for a play.

    Thanks again, much appreciated,

    Ian

  16. Big Thank-you to JP Beaver for sending me a midline pin. Had a little play with it, works well. Cheers again.
  17. Im using 10mm Globe 6000 and it works a treat. Not sure what the price is on access rope Vs Climbing rope tho. Im sure mine was only £98 for a lot of rope.
  18. You mean £77 + Vat . The RW is a great bit of kit and i use SRT lines so all the ascenders are approved for that use. The ISC rocker, not sure why its never taken off although the one 30min play i had with one i found it to be far more cumbersome than the RW but that is my limited personal opinion. The Bonus with the RW and the pin is midline attachment and quick change to DRT or from DRT to SRT in a few seconds. I dont know if you can pull a hitch up under the rocker but if not this would require attaching other kit to the line? As for the SAR i have never seen or tried so i cannot comment.
  19. Hey oldmilltrees, so you pull your weight up onto the static line much like you would on the hitch end of a DRT line, as you lift your weight pull the static line below the hitch upwards to move the hitch up. Rather than remove the slack like in DRT see it as tending to the hitch not the line. Yeah still on the LJ setup and managed a very fast decent on it whilst having a play. Porbably quicker than my SJ on DRT. I got to the ground as was like WOOOOOO! But didn't check how much heat was produced on the wrench but there was no signs of excessive heat transfer on my line so i guess its good for that too. Spiderjackery meets Wrenchery.
  20. Good on you for having a bash and stick with it. Now i havent felt the need to set a RAD system up after the 3rd day of using it, i just remind myself to tend the hitch rather than pulling the line (it aint going to move). I do sometimes pull the hitch up using the slack as i move in like DRT tho. Hope this helps,
  21. I think its French Gareth 'Ladders' meaning to levitate towards the top. Im not french so i use the thorwbag.
  22. Snap:thumbup:, but i haven't wanted or needed to switch back to DRT yet. Enjoying the learning of SRT and just enjoying a whole new approach to climbing a tree again.
  23. cool, see you at 10.
  24. Hi Ken, Yes thats exactly what i thought, might go have a play tomorrow with the SJ setup (depending on hangover). I would just run the cut away straight into my tethered RW (cut away) i think the distance is going to be less than another RW but i guess i'll see what happens.
  25. Never had the problem with the 2.0 version (i think it is). Given it some serious stick too. But yeah buy a wrench, you know you want to, or a new SJ.
