    why?

Thanks Graham. the tree looks like its had the top knocked out not long ago. would that explain the large varigated leaves?

    why?

Why has this poplars leaves gone like this? they are pretty much all the same.
  4. Whats that Harkie smock like? ive got an old army coat i wear but its not very good when climbing, it seems to get in the way.
  5. Why is this Elm dying? the tree is down to be dead wooded! i suspect it mite be past that though. no signs of decay that i can see, theres only a few green leaves on it and most of them have shriveled up and died. i think there mite of been a lot of soil compaction / possible excavations around it when the new car park was built! could this be the only explanation?
  6. Me personally would save up unless you were really in a bind and needed a truck asap. its ok keeping up with repayments while the goings good, but what if something happens that extra outgoing a month could get you in the shizzle. Its too easy to borrow money! save up you will get there in the end.
  7. Think i should get on the blower and see about getting 1 on demo:thumbup1:
  8. Whats your views / experiences with bandit chippers? ive been looking at the 65 & t5 xps

    pantin

Hi Silky ive read some of your posts and you also seem like a spiderjack lover . do you use a pantin? does it get in the way when your climbing or dont you notice it?

    pantin

yes as a rule i do. today i had to climb up horse chestnut after it had been honking it down all nite! it was like climbing on ice. i could of got throw line in from the ground and used the pantin to ascend to 1st work station and dodged all that slippy slimey stuff.

    pantin

I climb on a spiderjack and was thinking i could use a pantin for ascending when i drop through a fork. would this work?
  12. if a consent has been granted to dismantle a dangerous tpod tree but has nesting birds in it what do you do?
  13. stein explorer its like wearing my slippers at work. just bought a second pair others lasted just short of 2 years
  14. Im quoting for a job this week at a huge industrial unit. theres a lot of trees to come down round the back. can you get a mini skid steer with a grab on or something to move the timber about?
  15. Where did you buy your greenmech from? theres a dealer in wakefield but i think they only really sell the small gravity fed ones.
  16. After buying my 1st chipper a few years ago which turned out to be a right lemon! im starting to look around for a replacement. I'm trying to push for more commercial work so i don't know if a tracked 1 would be a better option "been more versatile unall". I really like the look of the quadtrak 160 on the low loader type trailer best of both worlds so to speak. what would you recommend and why?
  17. If i want to temporally move a bus stop "ie because were doing tree work above" do i need to contact arriva? or can i just tape it off and put a temporally sign further up myself?
  18. ive just spent the best part of 2 hours trying to find a tpo aplication form for wakefield council! why make it so difficult!
  19. Anybody do loller testing in west Yorkshire? Wakefield Leeds area prefrebly. I can come to you.
  20. I currently work full time for somebody and have been setting myself up in business. Last year i worked every day for just short of 7 month! I do 12 13 14 hour days on a weekend and when i finish work in either doin jobs or fixing things!! Everything seems to be breaking at the minute. Chipper sump on van brake drum and shoes on trailer fuel pipe on top handle! Im stressed to the max. This doesn't stop my girlfriend from having a go saying all o do is work and we never go anywhere and how i don't do anything in the house! Despite me offering! She just cant seem to understand what im working towards. How many of you suffered pointless arguments when you were just starting off?
  21. We keep everything locked up in the crew cab. Its got steel mesh over the windows so no smash and grab! And I've bolted a chain to cab floor which runs through handle of every machine and rope bag. Its a pain in the arse and the lock and chain aren't indestructable but its enough to make em think twice.
  22. im in the same boat m8. i got an 2004 crewcab got roughly 95 thou on clock now and ive had new clutch in it pulley that tensions drive belt broke and ruined alternater power steering pump and something else cost a fortune! now abs has stoped working and its due am mot soon which i know it will fail! dont want to keep throwing money at it but i cant afford a new one either:thumbdown:
  23. looks good tho rob
  24. probably best to get some tissues before looking! Defender Tipper | eBay
