From what i understand it cuts a lot of paperwork out for potential buyers, which in my eyes makes anybody registered more attractive.
  12. As you are probably aware the Fungi Directory is "to us un educated soles" a wealth of knowledge and a good way of identifying and learning. However for me personally its ok reading the print but actually pronouncing it is a different matter i cant for the life of me say some of them out loud so Arbtalk maybe you could put a tab on the side of the fungi and Latin name and when you press it it actually says the word out loud i know to some of you who has been doing this a long time this probably sounds like a dumb idea but to us who want to learn i think a lot of people would benefit from this feature.

I run a small 2 man team doing domestic and commercial tree work. lately we have had quite a bit of commercial stuff come through and keep getting asked if we are chas accredited, i am not! i have started filling in the necessary paperwork and have completed it all apart from the having access to competent health and safety advise. I know it says as a sole trader i can do this myself or appoint an employee but i honestly dont think neither of us know 100% of everything there is to know. should i seek outside help? or is there somwhere i can look to update my knowledge on current h&s

  16. We set the first post and kick board then work from there, always 2 foot under ground unless we hang a gate off of it then 6" deeper. as said use a length of timber the size of the post your using as a template then you know exactly where you are with levels otherwise them posts get heavy lifting them in and out the ground all day!
  17. It was for my snake like racing figure
  18. I dont consider this work its my little project "for work lol" 1 half is for splitting logs and the other bit is going to be completely enclosed so i can park my wagon in there i only paid for the telegraph poles and steel roof sheets the rest is pallets i scrounged and the rest i did some work in return for free timber seems to be taking ages to build though.

  22. Since my o licence application has been in the paper i have had a few phone calls about fuel cards. apart from the fixed price i cant see any benefits over not using 1! infact the nearest fuel station i can go to with the card is miles out of town
  23. We did a few windblow jobs a couple of weeks ago and 1 insurance company asked me to price a job in 2 halves they would pay what was in the tree owners garden but whatever went over the fence they wouldnt pay for!
