  1. after finally deciding that my old kwik chip is no longer a reliable machine . im looking at a used timberwolf 125 from mason wood chippers. anybody have one of these? are they any good? i only want if for small stuff anything 5 inch ish i use as fire wood
  2. the engine has gone on my kwik chip 222. can i put a slightly bigger engine in? or will if affect the running of the machine too much?

    mine is a ruggerini. the engine mounts are constantly breaking off in the engine really bad design as they are directly below the engine!

Ive decided that the engine in my chipper has had it and not worth repairing! the rest of the chipper is sound really. and as i cant afford a new one i thought maybe an engine swap. the one that is in it is about 30 hp i think! if i was to fit a new engine in what do i need to take into account? can i fit an engine with slightly more power or will it change too much?

  9. We are looking at buying a new house and I'm planning on having some sort of stove put in that will do all the heating and hot water. What boilers/stoves would you reccomend? I've been looking at those gasification ones but I don't know much about them? How much wood fuel would you use approx a year?

  14. But its running down the dead/dying limb and down into the trunk? Does that mean there could be rot inside?
  15. It doesn't look in decline. Its been really badly pruned before though! Really bad heading cut on 1 of the limbs and fungus runs down that to the main stem. Is it harmfull to the tree?

  18. Ive got a stein pole pruner which i find really awkward whilst up a tree! Its the action of resting the butt of the pole on my harness while reaching up high and pulling the cord! its a pain in the arse! is there any other designs out there what you reccomend? cheers

  22. I need to get some power lines shut down so we can dead wood some trees that run pararell to them. Who do I call? Is it national grid?
  23. Just got a call from a customer who wants some trees crown lifting along their drive. But there are power lines down 1 side of the drive! I haven't seen the job yet. They aren't pylons they are the electric supply to the house. Before any work can be carried out does the electric have to be turned off? What's the minimum safe distance from the line? Do you have to have your hv tickets to dothe work even if the power is off?
