    web site

So after much thought ive finally decided to get a website up and running. easier said than done! trying to come up with ideas and things to put on it arent as easy as it seems. do you go into detail or keep it simple? think i should stay away from web design!

  6. so my friend is a gardener a new garden hes just took on this year has 30 conifers down 1 side roughly 30-35 foot high the lady who lives there wants about 7 foot taking off the top of them all. he said its too much for him as he wont take on tree work! so i went and priced it up 3 weeks ago worked out 2 men 5 hours van an chipper 2 saws running "alot of leg work" put my price in that was low in my opinion but i was happy with what id come away with. anyway 3 weeks on havent heard a thing back! do you sometimes feel like people want things doing for nothing? i just know our local "saw and ladder man" is going to end up doing it with no qualifications no insurance and no tackle!!!
  7. yeah im sort of leaning towards the theory that people are starting to turn more to the internet to find companies to carry out work. just dont want to feel like im missing out on a way of getting my business out there to potential customers.
  8. could i ask you why u dont think it would benefit your buisness?
  9. was thinking about creating a website to try and increase our work load...anybody else created a web page and do you think it has created more work for you? cheers...
  10. Been on a small job this afternoon 2 trees with tpo's on them got permission to remove a few branches that was overhanging a garage. halfway through next door neighbour came out and asked if i could remove a branch on the opposite side of 1 of the trees because it was blocking his sky signal! so i said the trees had tpo's and i couldnt do anymore. he said oh ive got a letter saying ive got permission so he went and got it and i read it. it was for work on the 2 trees in his garden and the 2 in next doors "the garden i was working in" saying the work he wanted doin was allowed. the only thing is this letter was dated 27th january 1981! so obviously its for work thats been carried out 20 years ago! if the neighbour wants the branch removing will he have to apply for permission agin? the way the letter read it was allowing work on the upkeep of the trees. confused.

  25. i got pulled over by vosa last week in a 7.5t wagon..was over on the front axle by 600kg and under on the back! was 400kg overweigh overall! i didnt have my tachos with me nor my digital tacho i got fined £200 for been over weigh! £200 for not having my tachos the wagon was imobolised over night until we could get the excess weight off! the men from vosa said they arent allowed to work overtime anymore due to cut backs and unless i could get another wagon there in 30 mins the vehicle could not move untill i produced my tachos @ 7am the next day! i was in spalding lincolnshire and our yard is in rothwell leeds!!!! 30 mins!!! oh i forgot to mention the £400 was me personally and the firm also got fined £400 aswell! luckily our gaffer is a good bloke and he paid my fine aswell! they didnt check condition of the wagon or anything! dunno if the fines are the same for anything under 7.5t i would asume so though! been overweight is still overweight no matter what you drive.
