    Forst??

Yeah i am not the biggest fan, seems awkward to get socket on and slacken em off, even worse if the blade drops down

    Forst??

Tr6 for us...had a problem with the computer on it but Redwood sorted it asap. My only niggle is the blades are a pita to change compared to TW.
  4. It costs me £4 per set of blades at a company 5 miles away who specialize in sharpening machine knives for recycling plants, no postage etc. i have 4 sets for each machine and i try take as many as i can.
  5. forst tr6 & tw 190, tw blades have been fine for the last 2 years and are not hollow ground, machine is in use daily.
  6. Oh it is cheap "compared to some online firms" but im loosing half a day by the time i get em off the machine take them, wait so on. Just don't have the time
  7. Does anybody sharpen their own chipper blades? i can get them sharpened not too far away for a couple of quid per blade, but finding the time to take them and wait is near impossible! what sort of machine would be needed to keep them sharp
  8. Lad on here has the same ones, but he has mounted the unit on the back of the helmet "where it wont get smashed off" the mic just sits on the back of your neck, can still hear perfectly.
  9. I always think its easier to chip it, easier to get rid of too, we run bigger chippers though which will be much quicker.
  10. The only thing i am worried about is if they do a crap job do i want to be associated with them? its took me 5 years to build a good name, we don't advertise at all and have on average a 4 week lead time.
  11. We have being asked to take on a lot of work from a company operating in our area, they mainly do landscaping, sell topsoil / aggregates and some tree work. Basically if they cannot fell it they don't want it! the work was being done by a small 1 man band firm who apparently knocked on loads of jobs smashed customers property etc and generally portrayed a bad image of both parties. Just want peoples thoughts as we have never worked like this before, i cant really see any downside, more work for us
  12. That's not real!
  13. Ha ha...you would be in our special open air seating section in the van aka the tipper
  14. Nowt wrong with a bit of B.O Joe, when you have being grafting! not at 7.30 am in the morning!
  15. Exactly what that man said, & somebody who doesn't stink! nowt worse that sat in the van with a lad who has not washed his trousers for 3 month
  16. Don't want to seem like i am bad mouthing their product, just highlighting how their weaknesses makes all the good engineering pointless.
  17. Why do companies let their reputations down by not thinking products through I have just bought a Uniforest BMF 14 road tow splitter and despite issues is a cracking splitter Splitter was delivered by Riko last week "who have been above average rectifying problems" machine arrived with a bolt hanging out the axle! then leaking hydraulic oil from the sight glass! then oil from a coupling! the machine is solidly built but it seems they let some numpty have a hand in designing it! table was so low riko had to raise the height, side extention is so flimsy its broke already! there is nothing to hold the bottom of the table in place so when splitting a big log slides to 1 side! you need childs hands to attach light cable to machine! why specialise in making firewood related machinery if you don't understand the customers needs who wants a tiny table at knee height to split on? i hope they can rectify the above in the future as it would make a superb splitter. 1 lad can split 10 ibc's a day on his own which aint bad going and its built like a tank, just a shame about the little things rant over.
  18. Ours started off as a shite rained off day, took the new splitter out and smashed 10 cages out and we even got the rest of shed roof on so turned out to be a decent day
  19. I tried to get 1 on demo and after 2 phone calls they couldnt be arsed ringing me back!
  20. Shoveling chip out of a panel van will kill your efficiency! you will soon wish you bought a tipper.
  21. Ha ha you gotta love that fell and re-plant or fell and nice new fence is my motto
  22. What percentage of your weekly work is conifer related? Every other job we seem to do is either a stupidly overgrown conny hedge or a big nasty snotty old 1! As much as I hate them we wouldn't be half as busy without them.
