  1. They are good those door mines, bloody loud though! ive had a few go off about 12" off my ear! not good
  2. I always get materials myself, i explain that i am ott with fixings post depth/size etc thus ensuring a good solid job. It mite cost a bit more but you will only pay once for it! most people are fine with this and let us crack on. 1 bloke actually asked for the crappest cheapest fence panels & thinner fence posts! i explained that this probably wasn't the best way of doing it but he insisted!!! Customers ordering stuff must be a nightmare, wrong tackle, wrong quantities, stuff not on site when needed
  3. Joke innit!
  4. In other eastern European countries if you don't look after your own future financially then its tough! Too many people nowadays are unwilling to pay their own way through life and think its acceptable to rely on loans and bailouts! I have always being told if i want something i have to earn it myself, i don't want to be working when i am 70 so have took steps to try and ensure that i wont have to. I have friends with the same attitude who are willing to graft and do things off their own back to ensure a secure future for themselves. Seems ludicrous that some people need babysitting by the government!
  5. In the tree or on the ground, makes no difference as long as the job is getting done. I don't mind doing ground work "if its easy"
  6. True that...but do you get a subbie in to do the climbing and do the donkey work yourself? i have done a lot of work in the past this way, much quicker.
  7. Theres not many jobs around my way where you could get a wheel barrow in never mind a loader!
  8. Is it me or does anyone else think this new pension that has to be legally offered to employees that is topped up by employers just another excuse for the government crapping out on its duties to look after us in our old age! This may sound harsh to some "why not look after your employees". I have 2 private pensions that i have being paying into since i left school 16 years ago now. Seems like another arse wiping episode on an employers half! It wasnt that long ago David Cameron slashed a lump off of employers ni contribution in an effort to get more people employed! now its another case of put your hand in your pocket again
  9. How many of you work alone and just get subbies in as and when, and how many have full time staff? i have a new lad starting monday, the cost of wages, ppe, training, holiday pay etc seems to be getting higher and higher. On small 1 man jobs i can actually knock them off faster myself!
  10. Does that go to Joe public? I didn't think any1 would want it when it rots down a bit.

  13. i like to grease the living **** out of my tackle! never had any problems or bearings go so far. Especially on me stump grinder, had it 3 years and its still on the original bearings.
  14. I know i went through fletcher stewart who put me in touch with somebody else, id try them. It was around 3 years ago now though.
  15. I got a new top roller for my really old kwik chip around 3 years ago, it was shipped from somewhere in Germany and was around £300! cant remember the firm name.
  16. Problem is they have warn so much there is about a 1" gap between them.
  17. surely they shouldn't be this tight! ive heated them up no end and managed to free 2 up so far! broke 2 sockets & 3 allen keys! rounded 2 heads off!
  18. What engine oil should my 2009 tw 190 be using? the manual says refer to engine hand book which i dont have!
  19. No lump hammer
  20. Sat at the side of it , Got both, just thought dragging trailer and tracked machine to trim some grannys hedge is a bit of a ball ache. Loctite! more like welded! nearly broke me back lifting hopper off mesen! they deffo didnt want the bolts to come loose
  21. Trying to replace the in feed roller blades on my tw 190, i have had loads of wd40 on the bolts holding them in place numerous bars, going to try heating them up tomorrow. Anybody else had problems removing the bolts? is there an easy way of getting them all out?

I agree, running owt 3.5t and carrying bits of trees is going to land you over weight real fast! ive been down the o licence route, and actually got granted 1 but for a small LTD company like mine i just cant justify 40 + grand for a new 7.5 tonner & all the crap that comes with it.
