  1. bought ten ton of ash in two weeks ago,,,and milled up three of the bigger logs to make sure got moneys worth, sold half of them the following week to a car restorer,recouping half my money,and have sold the rest green, with plenty of warning,,,,two blokes have already rang back asking for another load,,,last two loads going to a pub today,,,so happy days,,,,going to spend next to weeks sorting out next yrs,,well make a start anyway,,,if I can dig it out,,,,,or pub???

  4. we put a big chain through the wheel and around the leaf springs whenever were working in back gardens,,,the only pain is remembering its there when you drive off,,,(gravely pro-chip have holes in wheel hub)
  5. who insures all your gear darren? my yard has a estate worker and a copper with 2 dogs next door,and they still wont touch it,,,? nice undesireables still had the cheek to try and get in,,,,want to see there faces when alarm goes off and two dogs come hurling over next door fence,,,,when we set it off accidentaly,,,I have to jump on roof of van mself,,,,lol:lol:

  8. Totally mate,,sold all my arb waste by end of October,roughly 150 cm3`s and then bought 55cm3 in and sold that in two weeks,,,finding the time inbetween tree work isnt easy,,,

  18. thanks guys i take all on board,and i think £300 a day with bloke is ok,just trying to work out whether to buy one or hire one, I currently have jappa 100 saw bench and 11ton riko spliter,,just could do with speeding up the process,,,,,probably buy one in new yr,,,,I understand about hiring out and pitfalls,,dont hire my chipper out for same reasons,,,,next thing is "which one" off to read the links I suppose.....thanks
  19. this man talks sense my thoughts excatly,,you left him??? if I could count on my hands over the last ten yrs how many new subbies had put stuff into my chipper without realising the shoot was blocked and oblivious to the smoking drive belts and noise,,i`d be a very lonely tree surgeon,,,,,but they only do it once,,and thats not because I sacked em,,,,,,,
  20. producing how much for the client?...after your quote of £52.50 per ton,,,thats some pricy firewood,,,ontop of my £1.27.9 per ltre fuel tday,,,..jesus firewood prices are going to go through the roof,,,,hence why my nearest competetor is £100 per cm3 ,,,,,its mad:001_huh:
