  1. Found this on the forest floor yesterday, I assume it to be Russula ochroleuca. Can anyone confirm?
  2. Had an epic splicing night on Saturday. 6 done, still need to whip em! Oh and cool my hands down.
  3. JEEEEEEZ David. Your relentless! I'll see what I can do.
  4. Unfortunately nothing exciting but I'll play along.
  5. Or an iron bru! That's a thick coating. Nice find.
  6. What systems are people using most Jules? I haven't looked at the Helliwell system since college.
  7. Nice shots Chris, what's the advantage of using imgur? Is it just a cloud for photos?
  8. I'll be there tomorrow, but can't camp unfortunately as I'm moving house on Saturday. Looking forward to it as I haven't been for 4 years due to being in Australia. Hopefully I'll catch some of you there🖒
  9. Love my x rings. Don't use any thing but them. Not even a capstan for big stuff. Just add more rings for more friction if needed.
  10. I really like the 12mm sirius as well. Feels weird having a small rope for rigging but offers loads benefits. Mainly being light as hell when your dragging it around the tree. I also have had a go at trying to break it but it pretty strong stuff.
  11. Wow, fascinating thread. Thanks for the share. Iv seen so many melanine plates on trees I have removed and never known what it is. That thread leads me to believe armillaria is a lot more common than I first thought.
  12. Can you expand a little more on the Melanine on the cavity wall please. I tried a quick search but couldn't find anything:what:
  13. The resistagraph is an amazing tool which I would love to own one day. Did you suspect cavities before the drill David?
  14. Sounds a bit harsh without knowing the facts. We all make mistakes from time to time. Do you need to re take your cs39 assessment because of that fence panel you broke a few years ago?
  15. Proper good skillz there Ben. Of course I'm talking about the groundie:p
  16. Put the bina on the rope and turn it right around so it's basically upside down. That way you can leave it on the rope and unclip it off the harness to advance up a tree. Just don't go throwing great distances with the bina on incase of damage to the bina or you.
  17. Iv also been trying to look it up but to no avail. I'll keep trying.
  18. This was the most impressive Norway maple I have seen. 20m tall and 20m crown spread. Woodland edge tree adjacent public footpath so we reduced the height by 3m so the tree was the same height as the adjacent trees in the woodland. Owner wanted it done for their own conscience.
  19. Thanks guys, much appreciated. Glad to have one under my belt for the records. I was very surprised at how tough it was.
  20. Can anyone confirm if this is rigidoporus please? I haven't seen one before so would be good to get confirmation. Found on a huge Acer platanoides believe it or not. Quite extensive brown rot from an old scar on the trunk. Also infected with what I assume are the rhizomorphs of armillaria.
