  1. hang on let me adjust that for our 'kick off at anything members' green paint:thumbup:(joke) algae returns pretty fast, everytime i jetwash the patio it needs doing again pretty soon, isn't it a good sign of clean air? or is that lichen?
  2. green paint? algae returns pretty fast
  3. drink loads of water and pour it over your head everytime you overheat, a pile of fresh teeshirts so the sweaty ones don't stick to you and stick the blower nozzle in your face and down your pants, change your socks at lunchtime and use the blower in the sweaty boots. oh and er sitting in the shade pretending to be on an important phonecall helps too:thumbup:
  4. piccies of the above..
  5. at least it'll keep the idiots indoors instead of on the streets, i love how addicted to gaming/telly my neighbours are.. a lot quieter now
  6. emergency delete of double post
  7. :hmmmm2:aesculus hippocastanum? horsechestnut, or maybe red chestnut (going by bark on 3rd pic?) what's the information plank say?
  8. looks suspiciously like enteridium lycoperdon. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/15882-what.html
  9. expandicus fome:thumbup: works everytime
  10. i know this thread is old but.. is the info in the link still current? i spotted these oaks (i think they are affected by AODD) way north of the posted map. the first one was at christmas 40miles north of inverness, and the second just over the border in dumfries two weeks ago, both on oaks with approx 1m DBH, should i be worried? does this affect the quality/strength of the timber? as the second one is to be harvested/planked to repair an oak framed ship.
  11. yea i know its bad but we stocked the woodstores too late lastyear and it was unseasoned, i guess it couldn't have been swept out properly when its like that? this year we should be prepared a bit earlier. all the best in your new venture:thumbup1:
  12. unseasoned logs mean you never need a sweep, mine cleans itself every so often with pretty blue 8ft flames shooting out of the chimney pot, millions of orange sparks contrasting against the night sky...and hey presto one clean chimney.
  13. cool looking dog:thumbup1:
  14. 80% in and around hometown 15% in local towns 5% anywhere in the uk, from south wales to birmingham to scotland, got a job coming up this summer in bedfordshire and one next month near kendal. i like working away and the lads enjoy a change of scene.
  15. the thing that i think causes the snake is the load compressing the rear trailer axle tyres a bit so the structural strength of the tyre sidewall is compromised, this wobbling and flexing in the sidewall is affected by the road surface undulations and causes a sideways movement. the trailer then pivots on its front axle causing a sideways pressure on the ball/hitch and away you go. it can also be caused by other factors such as crosswinds
  16. i usually take my beasts when its a job where we don't need the chipper, the little one gets a bit panicky when chipping into the truck, most of the subby climbers i have used bring a small pack of dogs too, some days it looks more like a dog party than a tree site at lunchtime..!
  17. spotted this a couple of weeks ago, the black splodge below is where the lead pipe was disconnected when the tap could no longer be turned.
  18. not sure he wants pec's that big:thumbup:
  19. i only ever get the snakes when the weight is over the rear of the trailer, then just a gentle easing off the loud pedal while checking the speedo, then don't go that speed again
  20. drive the landy/tractor through them to squash down, then pile them up and burn the lot, the hedgetrimmer might work too:001_smile:
  21. caritool, just get a few every arb show as they snap pretty easy
  22. there's yer problem...get a landy! glad your ok, that sounds like a recipe for underpant soup
  23. i had a yellow one once, it was pretty good too:thumbup:
  24. don't be silly, your freedom lets you post a vid, my freedom lets me get annoyed by the sound of someones voice haha, what a boring world it would be if we all thought the same way
  25. nope, its a flatbed and the trailer was downhill of the tree. it landed with a good crash but the trailer is fine, very thin hinge as there was some backweight and we pulled it over with a tugline by hand. couldn't have gone much sweeter, rolled the log off the side of the trailer back at the yard:001_cool: i did wonder if it was a good idea but well...haha
