  1. Same as Stuart is there a link?
  2. Woohoo Happy Birthday. I was 32 yesterday and don't consider myself old. I make Rolls\sandwhiches and always drink tea when working or a bottle of water to keep hydrated. If i've not got the money i don't buy luxuries.
  3. As mentioned before, advertise with local 4x4 clubs for RTV events, perhaps even Camping weekends for groups of like minded people. I know a few people that would pay a few quid for a weekend to meet up, camp have a small fire and a few beers, perhaps do some off roading and then leave the place clean and tidy. If you had a set area for camping, with perhaps a fire\BBQ area it could be a nice place. Where about's in the country?
  4. Same as. I brought a load when i was in the states last year, $8 a pair or something silly like that. I use them for walking, cycling, most active work stuff.
  5. Ask him, you've got nothing to lose, ok you have a deposit but if you don't ask you might not get anything back. On another forum i go for Land Rovers, if we've been looking at buying things on Ebay or from the other end of the country we ask someone that lives in the area if they could go look at the vehicle, take pictures and post them up. Sometimes even collecting the vehicles and moving them around the country by passing them on to the next nearest forum person to get to it's destination. Quite good if your not in a rush for something and the seller it charging more for shipping than the actual item.

    snowmen

I've not made one, but this is the guys attempt from the office yesterday.
  7. Snowy bird box, which is in the plants to the left of the lamp post in the last picture.
  8. A few in the grounds around the office
  9. Ventured out to work yesterday and took some pictures on the way in and around the office. Couple on drive in.
  10. Where?
  11. Morrissons do LPG down here as well. Although not advertised that well. I drove to Wales and ran out of Gas on way home as couldn't find a service station with it. I searched when i got home and there a Morrissons in the village i left in Wales and they had Gas. I know you can download Autogas for Tom Tom which shows you which service stations have autogas, mainly Shell and BP.
  12. I brought my 3.9 Disco 6 months ago because it had LPG already fitted. Still dual fuel and you can't notice the difference. Only issue i have is the big tank in the boot which when i rebuild the disco in to a 110 it will be replacing the normal fuel tank and have a smaller petrol tank. I don't think i would pay to have it done on a vehicle i only use 2 - 3 times a week. 80 litre tank costs £43 to fill and will do 250 miles sensible driving, 180-210 miles foot planted to floor. As for filling places i know of 3 i use in the Guildford area.
  13. Sacked work today, only a few people in the office and roads were a nightmare this morning with idiots that don't know how to drive in the snow, which makes it dangerous for us sensible people in Land Rovers. Headed out for a drive at lunch time to get milk as Sainsburys in Godalming at 430pm yesterday had none on there shelves, bread and meat isles were the same and queue for tills was all the down the shop width. Roads passable and headed down A3 to Milford from Godalming and it was driveable. Few pictures i took from the window last night.
  14. Certainly am, been in 13 years now. 3 PWRR in Farnham. Platoon Sgt. Loving it, apart from all the reduction in money so we can't train properly. Apologies for the thread Hijack.
  15. I'm 32 in a few weeks, and just getting in to the business after a career change. I've done my 30 and 31 and did my climbing and ariel rescue ticket as well last year. My aim is to be a climber. I wasn't sure how i would get on climbing so did the course anyway and you can judge from that if it's for you, if not then at least you hold a ticket for ariel rescue.
  16. I agree with the above. I have had two pairs of LOWA's in the last 10 years and they have served me well. Started with the Original LOWA Gore tex version, they died after various exercises and walking trips last year, i didn't look look after them too well either but had 7 years wear out of them. Currently have the LOWA Patrols non goretex again as they dry quicker if water goes over the top and there still going strong. have a look HM Supplies I also had the Desert version issued when i was in Afghan this time last year and they split after wearing them daily for 8 months in some tough terrain, but were comfy as hell.
  17. Yeah i know off RogueTrooper. Our banter has crossed in times gone past.
  18. Nope Neil is my first name. Recceboy comes from years ago when i used to be in a Recce platoon and just kinda used it when i joined a land rover forum many moons ago.
  19. It is unfortunate and not nice to come out in the morning to find your car\truck\landy gone. Fitting kill switches is all well and good but they will just free wheel it of the drive straight on to a beaver tail transit and it's gone. Seen so many posts on Land rover forums for Land rovers being stolen and never recovered. A respray or break them for parts to get money, so easily done. Sorry to hear of your mates bad luck.
  20. Conway, I'm just starting out in the business and work for my friends company part time, going full time in the new year. He assisted with the purchase of my PPE. I got a Petzl helmet ready for when i start climbing for him. Pair of Hiax boots and they are comfy and warm for what they are priced at. Pair of Husky Chainsaw Trousers and Gloves. As other people have said try and use the colleges kit first and make your own mind up. I know when i did my climbing course i climbed in 3 different harnesses on different days and found 1 easier to use than the others. Additionally i used the Colleges saw's which were Stihls 260's and they were well used but serviced daily due to the courses run. My Instructor brought in a Husky 246 and i used that for a few cuts and found it to be easier and lighter to use when doing the felling part of the course. I have no preference. I've since purchased a 246 and 200t off ebay and serviced them myself and they both work fine.
  21. Is Sweden not meant to be an expensive place to live. Cost of living is high i believe.
  22. Now I've not tried climbing in them but Lowa Patrols are an excellent boot for general wear. I've had 2 pairs of these in 8 years for when away with the Army on exercises and they've kept my feet nice and dry and sometimes not taken them off for other 36 hours at a time. If Lowa did Chainsaw boots, it would knock the industry upside down as they are the comfiest boots I've ever worn and not had one blister or wet foot from them.
  23. I tried a few when i did my course and settled with the Austrian Due that the instructor provided with one of his kits. It was slightly too small but i got on well with it and i liked the clip in seat that you could get. As and when i come to start climbing all the time i think i will look at the Austrian duo 3. Looks to be some good improvements on there.
  24. Sounds like you've got a few nice vehicles there. All is well with me. Got a house in august and been busy decorating and sorting that out. Slowly getting there. Need to get out more and do some off roading but currently not enough time.
  25. I got a nordman for £36 from an Nursery not bad for Surrey. B&Q and Homebases trees were bare and needles dropping while you looked at them.
