  1. I got 5 for £440 fitted. Paddocks wanted £460 i believe for 4.
  2. Good on you. All the best on your business venture.
  3. Welcome to the LR world of oily hands. I use Challenger 4x4 in Tongham, for all my work if i need anything. They also came in cheaper on a new set of tyres for me that my Friend did who works at Paddocks. Paul the owner is sound and knows his Land rovers very well and can fabricate anything you could think of. Also if you want anymore advice and like forums check out the link below. A great bunch of people and will take the piss but also are very knowledgable.
  4. When i did my ariel rescue it was commented on that i was constantly speaking to the casualty and that was the first time the assessor had seen\heard that throughout an assessment. It doesn't matter if they are unconsious they may still be able to hear you. So constant reassurance that you are getting to them, what your going to do etc etc will keep you calm and the injured party calm and also assist your thought process in what you are doing. So be as vocal as possible. Good luck.
  5. Opps wrong area to post. Sent you a PM instead.

  6. Now that is two words i never thought i would see in the same sentance.

  8. Al perhaps we could car share and head over. Might mean an early start.
  9. You could still get a Disco 2, get the windows removed at the rear and replaced with steel and you have your crew cab, or you could look on here defendercentre My Friend brought one from there, one of the white 110 BT one's and he is really pleased with it. Had no issues what so ever. Very good customer service as well.
  10. I deleted it as i got Chobham and Cobham mixed up. Bit too far for me to head over, wasn't 100% if i could make it anyway. Shame as i would have been good to meet up with some of you chaps.
  11. They look damn clean for a demo saws. Shirley a demo saw would have been used on say a log to demonstrate the cutting ability. Possibly have a few scratches from moving around and placing down on the ground. I smell a rat.
  12. I would say Defender 110, but you wanted comfort so go for a disco, series 2 td5 would be best for towing and comfort for commuting. Still excellent off road. What is your budget?
  13. I just got me some General Grabber AT2's excellent tyre and won't embarrass you off road.
  14. Congratulations. I can't comment on the rest as regards to changed. Just study and learn the procedures and you will be fine. Procedure for risks assessments stay the same so you should know that bit by know. Just include relevant points for what you are assessing.

  16. You had one to many http:// at the start and i think you used the wrong link.
  17. Thanks for the info, Makes a lot of sense. Again taught at College but not the full reasons, well not that i can remember the reasons anyway. I remember the procedure though.
  18. Excellent. You will enjoy it good course. They give you all the course materials you need when you get there.
  19. I've used Merrist wood for my CS30 and 31 and then my Climbing course was done with the instructor who has his own training company. Very good and excellent tuition, Cheaper than the Colleges. He is only based in Andover as well. Tony Darbyshire Training
  20. Not Arb work but more for the Government. When i was away last year, the media's accomodation tent was right outside the doorway to my tent\accomodation. So got to meet a few people, Ant and Dec, Ross Kemp, Gordon Brown (less said the better, he has a very limp handshake) on one of his flying visits. I also got to meet some lovely girls. My friend done some work for a John Lewis, owner of Waitrose. Anyway he told his groundsman off for not showing my friend round his private car collection. Apparently he owns one of the largest vintage\private collections in the world, all stored in his own museum. He also takes the guys from Hedley Court that have been injured in Afghan for days out in his cars to give them a boost of confidence. Hoping we get to do some more work there. As i wasn't there when he went.
  21. I'm no expert at designing web sites but i had a go. As long as you know how to edit a notepad document then it's simple enough. I downloaded a template from Open Source Web Design and then used a few web sites to find out the colours i wanted by googling for web design colours or something like that. played around with it untili got what i wanted and just waiting to get some more images before i publish the web site. You can find various hosting for as little as £5 a year upwards. All depends on what funds you have to apply to the web site. Here's a screen shot though.
  22. Having worked in an office for the last 10 odd years i can say it has no benefits at all. Office politics really annoy me, the vending machines and Snack wagons make me fatter each day. So when i was away in Afghan last year i lost over a 2 stone and was healthier and less stressed as i was working outside. I've since come back to my current job and it still the same with petty arguments and no thanks for doing a good job. Yes the money is good, but that doesn't make for job satisfaction. So the outdoor work is for me, i don't want to sit and see the beautiful countryside pass me by when i could be part of it. So a career change is for me.
  23. Have you looked at Fishing boxes? These have various compartments and a seat and are either made from a solid material or collapsible material. Some have wheels like a pull along trolly or straps to put on your back as well if the wheels don't warrant the terrain. This might be a good basis to work from. Fishing trollies
  24. Excellent, that a date for the Diary. may see some of you there.
  25. The missus and i brought a house in August last year. Had been looking since May and we managed to get a mortgage agreed in principal with a 10% deposit, When the first house fell through and we found another property we needed a larger mortgage. If we didn't have the original mortgage agreed in principal we would not have been able to get one, as a week after we had an agreement nearly all lenders went to 15% to 25% deposit. We had to get the Mortgage in the missus name as i still have a few debts i'm clearing up. She managed to get one with her bank Natwest, repayment type and they offered the best with our deposit. Good luck is all i say.
