  2. well 120" then but going full 360 round a log isnt always practical! i wouldn't mind getting into milling its just the time! and money!
  3. i don't cut anything that warrants a 42! 30" gives me 60" ish although have a nice pop to fell where a 36" would be nice!
  4. 13 on the 550 15 on 560 18 on the 72 20" on the 90 24 on the 95 30 on the 3120
  5. my 560 was fine for a bit then got trouble staring when hot so sent it in it had the new style carb fitted and recoil and has been perfect ever since! its even starting first pull atm too! it wil p*ss all over a stihl and absolutely rocks on a 15"
  6. 560xp and 372xp two of my favourite saws you just need to add a 395xp! 560 is just a amazing saw! and well the 72 is tried and tested and is also a beast!
  7. I do prefer working with softwoods though! it pays to know your saw lengths! 560xp 15" bar and 154se 15" 3 saw lengths 2.2m Ms660 2 saw lengths and powerhead 2.2m! its allot quicker than using the tape to! Charlie

    Oregon chain

I prefer windsor speed tips too! but i Have not tried out a sugi yet! also i think that the windsor stuff cuts quicker than the oregon, just dosnt hold a edge for as long as the oregon, although that just my opinion! but as you say its not what you ordered like ordering a 18" bar and ending up with a 20!
  9. still a nightmare to get it stuck into the wood sometimes though! especially beach! or dead sweet chestnut sometimes still have to tap it in with a wedge or timber tongs!
  10. The oregon ones also look very similar!
  11. 2 or three of your bog standard metal felling / splitting wedges and a axe something like these Hatchet Metal Splitter Log Splitter Wedge FUXTEC new | eBay presuming the wood is fairly straight
  12. also dont the 170's have non adjustable carbs?
  13. well its worth more than a pound even for firewood! at least its not starting at something ridiculous like 2,000

  15. thought it might work a bit like a powersharp lol:lol:
  16. How many days does it take to earn the 20.000? sound like you should give up the game idea as you have a geat business model!!
  17. ive had a chainsaw from someone before that were cakes in tried cutting some beach but it did nothing! so in the end i had to soke them in 2t mix overnight and a quick wire brush sharpen and soak in oil! thats what happens when someone goes out and buys a saw and doesn't know there's a oil tank!!! "ive never had it happen to e before and ive been using chainsaws for years"! brnd new b&q special! with maybe 3/4 tank through it!
  18. one way of protecting your kit i suppose! everyone will think your mad! Charlie
  19. I got a 18 on my 660 with 8 rim bought it only for one job ringing up some about 20" - 22" beach when it was raining so quickly popped into my local dealer on the way and got it. it so good its stayed on there! job was done in half the time just need a 880 for those bit butts like jon! Charlie
  20. you will have a chance to try them sat! charlie
  21. i bought it at the same time as the 362 i was worried that a 880 wasnt going to be big enough so i got this one
  22. must be the best saw made by stihl recently! It has outlasted my ms362 i have had it longer im always carrying it about and still on the original bar despite bending it loads of times just bend it back (probably better than that shiny ones!)
