  5. cheers for the PN's, I think they are the same as the 254xp ect but i will ring another dealer a bit further away and see if they have them maybe they are the same as a newer saw and have them in stock
  6. think i have found some bits now stumbled across someone who i got bits for my 154se off on ebay looking for something completely different! he has got the bits im after although maybe not the pulley but there is one i could import from the states cant wait to get it going again! the 262xp will live on one of my three favourite saws to use! Charlie
  7. there was a pulley on there last time i looked but now its gone but i still would need the springy bits! Charlie
  8. I wasnt sure where to psot this but here goes! Just seen this video on facebook . i wouldn't watch it with kids about as there is some strong language! but what he says is absolutely right!! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10153563011110296 Charlie
  9. Does anyone know if parts are still obtainable for the 262xp from husqvarna? I need a new pulley what the rope wraps around and he two bits on the flywheel (i want to call them starter dogs?) that engage with the pulley? I have the springs. unless someone's got some serviceable ones under a bench! I would ring my dealer but they are closed until January! Charlie
  10. we use a gazebo but make sure its the pole type as they are stronger than the pop up ones and then tie it to the processor! shade in the summer water proof in the winter and you could even put sides on it! charlie
  11. well having put the 18" bar on the 660 and a 8 rim the chips go flying! but as its only a 18 i find my self reaching over the top cutting on the backside to start the cut with the saw vertical and having chips flying past the rh side of my head and the when the wind picks up
  12. HI i am after one of those long rubber flaps which go on the side covers and deflect the saw chips down more. like on all the large american saws its for a ms660 something like this but i imagined them bigger? STIHL 044 046 064 066 MS440 MS460 MS461 MS650 MS660 SIDE COVER DOG SPIKE SET NEW | eBay Charlie
  13. I think a husqvarna 262xp would suit you nicely runs a 18 well and i have had a 24 on mine for a short while and it does pull it! but overall these saws are bombproof they do hold there value though! charlie
  14. mine just went yesterday! typical i bought a new chain for it sat too! i am also in the non greasing the bar clan! and this saw has bee used on oaks and allot of sweet chestnut coppice! although the sprocket actually went half way through a plunge cut felling a medium sized beech! although i got allot of use out of that bar! i took a closer look at it and i could see it was just starting to hit at the bottom of the rails! Charlie
  15. same saw? this bloke loves it! there is English voice over! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XcHb_imElQ&list=FL2pV6mirOGPoSG1BSqB9eaQ&index=9]Dolmar - YouTube[/ame]

  18. well it obviously extremely hard the run up he is having to take!
  19. like his boots! why does he keep trying to turn the tyre? he's got room to move around it!
  20. rules are rules! lets lock the thread then delete it!!!!!!
  21. The Snap on ones are the dogs ... Yeah they start all the tractors at work untill you get to the new JD 7260R's and that takes allot also someone has a oldish back bluepoint one not quite as good but its up there Charlie
  22. Cheers Jon i think there is a point where bigger saws just give more torque and need a little tune up to help them along. do you know if they have the same trouble as the ms880s and the chainbrake Charlie
  23. Hi Ive got some questions about the MS660, firstly does it come with duel felling spikes out of the box? Can my local stihl dealer supply a 3/4 wrap bar? and cam it pull a 20" on a 9T? and lastly is it a screamer out of the box! ive got a 395xp already but after a week using a ms341 i just want a stihl now! :biggrin:i think one will be enough just want a high power saw on a short bar! beside husqvarna are a far better saw
  24. generally what i do is think what bar size i want then buy the saw that has that size as the minimum size it can run. although i do have a 24" on a 262xp pulls it all day long though
