  1. I ordered some OP and OV has been delivered in 8mm. Tried serarching online for it but i can only find OV in 6mm. I am about to splice up some E2E's but i'm just wondering if its the same, just a different colour?
  2. The wood definitely helps to hold its shape. I had a few turn a bit rounder in shape without the wooden frame but tbh I'm going to stop using them. Now they're empty they're a pain because they won't stack on top of each other and end up in a mangled mess. IBC's are the way forward for me... Especially as I've got a free supply :-)
  3. i don't mean to be picky but are you sure they're a m3? i make some pallet cages with stock fencing on 1.2m x 1m pallets and they are 0.96 m3. For a round cage of wire to be a m3, the diameter would need to be 1.28m.
  4. That scene with 'herbie' in the bar at the beginning of the film makes my hairs stand on end every time i watch it! Awesome film!
  5. I bet you barely felt it!!
  6. I havent heard about a new 346! Whens the release date?? Any links or info on it??

i'm sure i saw you looking lustfully at my ms441the other day!!!
  8. I was all set to buy a 346xp to replace my tiring old ms260 until i read this! I'm back to square one now! If the 2 saws were in front of you and you could only ever use one for the next year, which would it be??
  9. No probs Martyn... Was good working with you too! I'll give you a call around Christmas as I've got some more work lined up for the new year with your name written on it! Me and Martyn were discussing what a good forum this is and how it must have opened doors for so many people! A BIG thankyou to Steve Bullman and the mods for such a good job. Steve Bullman- there's a Christmas drink winging it's way to you through PayPal!!
  10. I have to build a new hatch for a cellar and some new doors for a barn and have been searching for some feather edge oak boards to clad it with. I need boards 150-200mm wide to cover approx 10m2. Has anyone on here got any or know of anyone who has in the South Wales area?? I will be in Somerset / Dorset over Christmas and new year so could possibly collect from these areas too. Thanks in advance!
  11. I sent an email to your "info@" email address on the 11th of November but had no reply!
  12. My parents have the Aga Little Wenlock and they easily keep it in all night. Fill it right to the top and close top and bottom vents fully. It will easily stay in for 10+ hrs
  13. ive got a 2004 iveco 35c12 crew cab and i love it! It is built like a tank compared to my old transit! Its currently got steel dropsides on it with ply sides added but theyre bloody heavy! Over christmas i'm going to build an aluminium back to go it and shave a bit of weight off it. The back seats have been removed and there is loads of space for kit... too much really! One thing to be careful of with the crewcabs is tell the insurers the rear seats have been removed and its now a 3 seater. With the rear seats its a commercial 7 seater so you would require a minibus license to drive it!
  14. Very nice! Where do you get your International parts from? Ive got an old B-275 which needs a little tlc and a few parts. - Dynamo, Glow Plugs, Brakes etc. And some companies online seem expensive!
  15. As the title: Self employed groundie needed next Thursday and Friday. Must have CS30+31, be experienced and have common sense! Ideally someone local as i often need an extra pair of hands! Send a PM via arbtalk or email to [email protected] if your available. cheers, Matt
  16. Just filled it in... Doesn't take long!
  17. Rover - Nice idea! That should do the trick! I'm now on the scrounge for ibc's though! Anybody know of any going cheap in South Wales / Somerset / M4 corridor??? I could collect around 20 at a time and would have 200+
  18. Thanks dave... I'm very jealous!!! I need ibc's in my life! Do you have any problems with mould in the middle of the stack?
  19. I have thought about the billet route... Would need to buy a bigger splitter and a saw bench though! I am going to invest alot of money into the firewood side of my business this year and i want to make the right decisions for years to come. The biggest problem for me is the ammount i handle the logs... I guess with billets you're handling them more than the conventional way??
  20. Thanks for all the replies! I still don't know what to do!! Hi John, the barn is only 7mX4.5mX4m high (upto the eaves)= 126m3 so that's why I said 100m3 to store in there. It's about 15 miles from my yard where I currently store my wood but i only have space for 100m3 there. Because i wont be the new barn often, that's why I'm thinking of cladding it, filling it, and forgetting about it for 10-12 months. Best of all... It's free! Out of interest, what do you pay for your ibc cages?? I have been pricing up m3 bags today and at £5.60+vat, I think they're a bit steep! especially as they may only last a couple of years where as an ibc cage will outlast me!!
  21. Where in South Wales are you?? There's no where with a massive selection afaik but a few local places have a stock of stihl and haix. You could try and call 'forest, park, and garden" in llantrissant. I was in L&M Young in Newport a couple of weeks ago and they had some haix on display. Powells forest and garden in Abergavenny could be worth a shout too!
  22. I have an opportunity to use an open 'dutch' barn to store my logs in so i was thinking of cladding it with wood leaving 40mm between each 100mm board to allow the air through and to keep the undesirables out! To save time and expense, i am hoping i can process the logs in to one almighty pile and leave them for a year. In total there will be about 100m3 in the barn. Does anyone else do this with good results? My concern will be mould in the centre of the pile and the logs not seasoning. I could process into m3 bags and stack them with gaps for the air but then i limit myself to how much i can get in. Any advice much appreciated!!
  23. I'm going to do mine over Christmas. Rear seat is coming out and having a shelving system to store saws, rope bags, etc. out of sight. Definitely putting up hooks/rope to hang the helmets off. Fed up of straightening up my visor!! The rear door step is a good combi-can size so im going to build a sealed area, vented to the outside. Oh, and build space for the dogs to go too!!
  24. Dave - i store most of my logs loose and fill the barrow bags up before delivery. (I am going to build a hopper one day to tip the logs into!) If i remove an apple tree / cherry etc, then i season these in barrow bags as i charge a premium for these. I tried the non-vented bags but some customers complained of mould after a while with seasoned logs (MC -20%) so decided to stick with the vented. I think new customers like to see what they're getting too.
  25. I use a lot of them. People in the town like them as you can take them through terraced houses, down steps, alleyways, etc. and they dont need a log store! I take a £5 refundable deposit which is great because you generally get repeat orders from the same customer. it takes a while to get the knack of up/down steps mind Mine are on their second year and a few have a few holes in where they have been dragged along he ground but thy are still very useable and i'm sure ill still get a few more years out of them yet! I have seen some companies offering non-vented barrow bags for a very good price but IMO stick to the vented bags.
