  1. If you clip a krab into the the big hole on a pantin, it's stops the gate opening. I think it's on one of cary gibson's vids
  2. As ian said on the "best thread ever" he's going to try to get some limb walk footage at the rec climb next week. Ian, I have a prime spot for it, big long limb, nice drop through redirect from above then out and up. I'll film you to get another perspective than the helmet cam:thumbup:
  3. The lockjack is hands down the best bit of kit I've bought (yet) One handed tending, as well as self tending. And being able to give yourself slack by pulling it out of the top of the lj is amazing. It doesn't have any sit back like a hitch does either
  4. Butterfly, but it's well known that I've been lusting after a sequoia for a few years
  5. As above. Several members with the same reason to be scarce on here...I'm intrigued!!!
  6. Me too:001_rolleyes: Did you build the roundwood cabin yourself? I'm planning to make a similar thing when my trees get big enough!
  7. Done. Would be up for product testing if you need any help
  8. You talking firewood or other kinds of timber products? We occasionally have timber to get rid of your way, I'll see what we can do
  9. Barrel knot, there is just something about the way it looks for me. Is that weird?!
  10. Little chunks with a big saw.Hadn't it got to be lowered because of camellias underneath it?
  11. Are your depth gauges a touch low? It'll bite harder and kick a bit more if they are
  12. I think you'll have to make a trip to burtons!
  13. Are the climbers leg loops undone at 34s?
  14. Quality,my mates dad looks the spitting image of chuck, I've even seen him roundhouse someone!
  15. The company I work for is supportive of changing things and keeping up to date. The problem I have is insurance and working to industry best practice. It seems the paperwork people who govern best practice are way behind on new technology ie.the rope wench and uni etc. I am in contact with a few people trying to change this at the moment. The vids may come in handy to back up the argument. As taupotreeman says, you're still only on one line in ddrt, that was one of my first cases for srt
  16. I'm working on getting permission to use it but it's a slow uphill battle. I can play on it out of work and with the obvious benefits, find it hard to believe the paperwork side of the industry hasn't cottoned on yet.
  17. Had a similar job today, ash reduction with a big wide canopy and lots of drooping limbs. I put in a redirect on one side then added another as I descended to give a better line angle on the droopers. However,i had to use ddrt as I'm not currently allowed to use srt at work,i can feel how much extra energy I've used as a result of the re directs.
  18. I might come depending when it is, and visit a mate that way at the same time
  19. I am, maybe with one or two others
  20. Plenty around, just haven't tried that rope:thumbup:
  21. I know we've talked about it before but I'd be reluctant to leave a krab where I can't see it. Who knows what it would be rubbing against, possibly opening, cross loading or bending across the TIP. A mallion you can lock tight, and they're shaped to stay in correct alignment for the task you want them for
  22. Looks smart but I'd def put a stopper in the end.is that a mallion on the other end?
  23. Fair enough, you don't have any trouble then?
  24. Some unscrupulous person at college had a habit of pollarding pines, and claiming it would grow a new canopy
  25. So, it doesn't yet have ce approval,as they said monday, so it wouldn't be ok for loler, with or without mod until the ce goes through
