  1. Looks like there a few going then. Should be a good day! Im saving the rw for it. Can't wait to have a go
  2. Nice! Have you seen the hitchclimbers guide to the canopy? There a link to it on the most recent hc thread. The second link I put up is the new one. Got some good ideas in it.
  3. Alright boys, the rope wrench has arrived so I may be back on my hc for the rec climb, just to try it out. Also need to practice doubled rope footlocking following the new spiderjackery vid! Andrew, you didn't go for the lj in the end I take it?
  4. Mine arrived on monday, just got to find the time to play with it now
  5. Security tag of some kind? If not, no idea!
  6. I got on fine, though it did take a week or two. As long as you can deal with pulling above then tending slack you should be fine. It's easier to get about with than a prussik etc. as it'll generally be closer to you, depending on what hitch you use.
  7. One rope, one end, one set up. Side strop for work positioning
  8. There is! http://www.google.com/m/url?client=ms-android-hms-vf-gb&ei=jkryTsCvBcej8gOZjAE&gl=gb&hl=en&q=http://www.treemagineers.com/downloads/hitch_climbers_guide.pdf&source=android-browser-type&ved=0CBMQFjAA&usg=AFQjCNHYtw2donD6AvRWaU4B13KWJwULOw I haven't read it so I don't know what's changed
  9. Should help a bit. I think there is a new version too

  11. Yes if you want it with two systems, no if you use an m rig. I'll find you a link, give me a second....
  12. Loving the footlock then retrieve. Are you just using a big footlock prussik on the doubled line?
  13. Best of luck to you. I didn't intend on the little derail,i was just trying to make a point relevant to your thread. Fair play to anyone who is giving it a go, it's just nice to try and maintain a healthy income at the same time.
  14. As I said, if people repeatedly go in low, general prices go down, consequently everyone suffers
  15. He does have a valid point though. If everyone keeps going in lower and lower, it won't be worth doing. Problem with that is,a lot of us rely on this industry. If it gets to the point we can't afford to keep doing it, theres gonna be a lot of people in trouble. Keep prices realistic, and remember, we live in a fundamentally capitalist society! Businesses that make no money can't last long
  16. I would but I can't download it. my phone says the file type is not supported
  17. Due to the fact that single rope work positioning is still not an approved method in arb,i need to sign an insurance disclaimer to use it at work. I was wondering how everyone else using it gets on? Are you mostly self employed so call the shots as to what methods you use? Anyone have any trouble with insurance etc? I don't really fancy signing off from the company's insurance. I have been offered personal insurance by the salesmen at various arb shows to cover me srt, though I suspect they may back out on the event of a claim as it may be argued I'm not using approved methods. As there seem to be so many arbs using srt for work now, isn't it about time afag/hse/loler re classify it?
  18. 45m and a 15m. And a 5m flipline because 3 kept being too short for a lot of stems
  19. Guess what I've bought! Should be with me before xmas so I'll have it for the 31st

  20. Il see what I can do. I have climbed srt on just a hitch (shh don't tell anyone) used a double distel to make it bite a bit better. You're gonna love it with the sj,i can promise you that!
  21. So I buy one and you try it out?
  22. I think I may have to get a rope wrench now before the day......
